We purchased a reburbished La Marzocco Linea 3 head machine from the Coffeehouse Depot back in February. It looked beautiful. A dark green with wood acsents. We couldn't be more happier to display this beauty in our coffee shop. As soon as we got it installed in March, we immediatley started having problems with it. The coffee boiler would not go above 150 degrees. We put up with it for a couple of weeks and realized it wasn't going to get any better. We contacted support and Giovani worked with us to trouble shoot this issue. Great help. After several sessions, it was agreed that the heating element was bad and needed to be replaced. A new heating element was sent to us. I have never worked on a machine at this level, so this was all new to me, but I know we needed to do something, so I rolled up my sleaves and dove in. I had to purchase a large socket in order to get the heating element out. Once it was broken loose, the heating element end came out of the machine, leaving majority of the element still in the machine. A lot of rust and decay caused the element to seperate. After successfully installing the new heating element, we turned the machine back on, hoping for the best. Well, the temperature reached 150 degrees and then kept going higher, never stoping at the defined 200 degrees. It kept raising until the machine went into over heat mode. Several calls back to support and it was determined to have a bad SSR (solid state relay). I was able to take out the SSR from our old machine and get our new (restored) machine back into business. A new SSR was promised to us, but was never delivered.
We purchased this restored machine for top dollar and we expected it to be fully serviced and ready to go. That was not the case. It appears alot of energy was used to make the machine look good, but the inner works were not attended too. Our trust in this machine is extremely low and we are expecting to have to put more work into it in the future because of our experience so far.
Support was great, but I really wish I didn't have to use support on a brand new restored machine.
Update
The company contacted me after my review and took actions to rectify all my concerns. In today's business environment, this was totally unexpected. I was surprised. Thank you for backing your product and taking care of your customers.
I would highly recommend using this company for any of your coffee machine needs. As we continue to grow our coffee shop, we will continue to look to the Coffee Machine Depot for our...
Read moreI was so excited to find these guys. I have been slinging coffee for 20 years and was advised from the start, never purchase a used machine. This time i thought 'surely this will work out. This business has changed in 20 years'. I was so excited to get this machine. I ordered and paid for overnight delivery. It took 5 days. Ok, i'm pretty reasonable and the machine is shiny, ill get a little refund and all will be well. Unhooked my old machine which was over 10 years old, just could not find parts easily. Hooked up the new one to the very same water source i have always used. I worked on trying to figure out why i had no output, for days. Called Aaron, spoke to their tech numerous times. They were good to stay on the phone with me trouble shooting for long periods of time. Tried everything. The water from my source was clean and clear. I have a softner under my counter for each machine. Water from machine had garbage and yellow. I ask Aaron if i had my guy testify to the water source and my ability would he accept that the issue was on his end? He ageeed. Until my installation tech came out and checked my lines and water source. He told them i was in good sape and the issue was theirs. Aaron then yold me that my tech and i had history so he did not believe him. I had a new machine installed 2 days later. Hooked it up to the same water source. I have had no issues at all. I shipped the machine back. They called me to let me know it was damaged in shipping and why didnt i wrap it. I did. They are not easy to ship. They want a 20% restocking fee which i would pay if the problem were mine. They did call to let me know that the problem was charcoal from my in line fiters. They found it while testing the water. I informed them that i did not use charcoal filters. That was 2 months ago. They still have my money. They were sending the water off for more testing. My integrity has been questioned, my machine technician's integrity has been questioned and my money has been tied up in this machine...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing store, service, and people. I called in with a ton of questions, thinking the sales receptionist might get annoyed, but she was so helpful and understanding. She patiently answered all my concerns, and by the end of the call, I was sold on the Lelit Mara X. It was the perfect size for my limited counter space.
What really won me over, though, was when she told me about the annual maintenance service they offer for a small fee. The fact that they offer that kind of support made me feel much more confident in my purchase.
Before this, I had a Rocket Appartamento as my first prosumer machine, but I kinda neglected it because the other coffee machine store in LA just wanted to sell it and send me on my way without teaching me anything. Coffee Machine Depot, on the other hand, offered to teach me the ins and outs of the machine, which I really appreciated. After using an Ascaso Steel Duo for 5 years, I was ready for something more advanced, and this store made the process easy and stress-free. I cannot emphasize just how great Coffee Machine Depot is.
Also, I thoroughly read the bad reviews and concluded that most of them were crazy quacks who don't know what they're doing LOL. Try this store out first and listens to the professionals who want to make your espresso journey easy as possible.
Finally, shoutout to the guy (Lance Hendrick doppelganger) who loaded the heavy Lelit box...
