It was my 2nd visit w/ my family & a friend of my family & all the foods we ordered were so ~yummy !!! And all at decent prices compared to the prices of dishes at other restaurants in West Hollywood, Beverley Hills area , Santa Monica,so on. We had very yummy dan men noodles ,all VEGAN dishes we had ,a bock choy dish ,some fried rice , 2 orders x seaweed salads ,Some tofu dish ,scallion pancakes( I get upset if a Chinese restaurant I dine at doesn't have it ! Lol.), veggie dumplings & a pot of delicious fragrant jasmine tea ! We all loved everything ,again !! They have an OPEN KITCHEN,so you can watch what they're doing .A very bright modern restaurant, very very clean restaurant. The bathroom was very clean at both times we visited . This is also important to me ! They say you can tell how clean the restaurant's kitchen is by seeing how clean ,or dirty their bathroom is !! It's very true !! The staff are all nice there ! Just one thing ,they DON'T HAVE DESSERTS !! It's located in a shopping plaza ,you can get some nice ice creams ,etc. ! It's very close to L.A.X.,so very convenient to swing by after arriving to L.A.X.,or treat your guests who are visiting & just arrived from another state ,or overseas ,etc. I had my very 1st meal there right after arriving at L.A.X.from the Heathrow airport myself last summer ,too ! A perfect restaurant for a big group of guests also ,or a nice, but a casual date as it is budget friendly .But, it won't disappoint, or you won't sacrifice the quality !I really love this place !! My new favourite Chinese restaurant in L.A.!! They have steamed rice in both white / brown ! So,it satisfies health conscious customers ,too !! We had a great diner !! My entire family & our friend loved it !! It was busy despite it was Wednesday even & one hr.before closing time ! Everybody seemed to be enjoying their dinner / conversations !! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this...
Read moreFirst time checking this place out and I left fairly satisfied (2017/6/10). It is a somewhat arduous task to find a solid Taiwanese joint out in the westside of LA, but I would definitely give this place repeat visits to try out their take on some of the classics.
What I got and what I thought:
Beef Noodle Soup (2017/6/10) flat noodles best capture the flavor sour pickled cabbage is a must (adds a kick to refresh your palate) broth is loaded with a nostalgic star anise flavor bone-in ox tail gives a nice meat texture and visual appeal Overall, I really enjoyed this dish and could possibly establish this place as my go-to local Beef Noodle Soup stop
Scallion Pancakes (2017/6/10) doughier style of the dish that is a bit more formal compared to the late-night street vendor style (the one that's flakier and oilier) comes with a light sauce, but I found that I enjoyed the dish more with my Beef Noodle Soup broth I have a favorite spot for these in Hacienda Heights, so I didn't have very high expectations before trying this dish
Popcorn Chicken (2017/6/10) a less-fried take on the common go-to appetizer tender and flavored with garlic and scallions dipping sauce adds more flavor dynamic, but it feels somewhat strange for me to use I prefer a different style of popcorn chicken, so I have other restaurant preferences. But the dish was enjoyable nonetheless
While none of these dishes are what I would consider the best I've ever had, I can see myself making monthly visits for a hearty bowl of Beef Noodle Soup (as an alternative to monthly...
Read moreReason for visiting: dinner with some friends on a Friday night! Over COVID quarantine (fully vaccinated)! Date/time of visit: Friday night, ~9 PM Parking: in the lot next to the plaza the restaurant was in. There's a ride share drop off turnabout, which does not lead to the parking lot. The shared parking lot is on the other side (near the Hamburger joint), which is a bit confusing. To get there, you have to go a block over, past the restaurant. There are probably other lots as well; no street parking around. Party size: 4 Environment/ambience: all tables socially distanced. Indoor and outdoor seating. They offer validation if you park in the lot(s). No TVs around. While we were there, the fire alarm went off, which was annoying and not anything urgent. They did us a solid since we were seated 9 PM (our reservation was for 8:40 but we were seated at 9) and the kitchen was closing; they let us know so we can order quickly. Service: good. They offered recommendations but also kept the kitchen open for us to order before they closed for the night. Food: was good; think of upscale Chinese food. Food was clean and tasty. Ordered the following: scallion pancake, 10 chicken soup dumplings, 5 steamed chicken dumplings, 5 steamed pork/shrimp dumplings, steamed bok choy, chicken Dan mein, chicken fried rice, popcorn chicken, and one coke. Didn't have the Bok Choy but everything else was good. Cost: ~$100...
