Daniel’s Bagels is the kind of place that reminds you good things don’t need a big sign(although theirs is pretty big), fancy branding (although theirs is pretty good), or over-the-top toppings. It’s no frills, just bagels and cream cheese. But these bagels tell a story.
This shop was born at a time when so much came to an end. Your favorite restaurant that had been around since you were a kid? Gone. The world slowed down, and in that pause, many people discovered new passions. Daniel was one of them. In the stillness of lockdown, he saw what LA was missing a real bagel. Not the kind that claimed to be "New York style" but never quite delivered. He didn’t slap on NYC to the name. He just named it after himself and let the bagels do the talking.
And talk they do.
If you ever catch Daniel or one of his friendly crew members carting out a fresh batch from the back, don’t overthink it. Just grab one. Don’t ask for it toasted, that’s like asking for your steak well done at a steakhouse. They call it rip and dip for a reason. Tear into that piping hot bagel, try not to burn your fingers, and dunk it into their freshly whipped cream cheese. That first bite? Unreal.
My favorite Bagel in all of Los Angeles is their rosemary bagel with scallion cream cheese. That pairing deserves an award. The herbal warmth of the rosemary with the bright tang of scallion is something you won’t stop thinking about.
From a home kitchen to farmers markets and now their first brick and mortar in the heart of Palms, Daniel’s Bagels is a welcome addition to the community. Can’t wait for you to try it for yourself. Please...
Read moreI have had many bagels in my life. Bagels I would consider to be good. I mean this wholeheartedly when I say it, all of those bagels pale in comparison to the experience Daniel’s Bagels brings. I did not expect to be dumbfounded on a Friday with half a rosemary bagel in my mouth in Culver City, but that’s where I found myself this morning. My friend took me here because she was insistent that I try these amazing bagels. I was excited, as I always am when bagels are on the table, but unprepared to be blown away. Yet blown away I was. Everyone working here is kind and enthusiastic (much appreciated in the early morning). The bagels are baked to perfection, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and you might get to meet Daniel himself. Check it out and please support this business! They are carving out their place in the breakfast industry and they deserve every bit of recognition. Thank you guys for brightening our day and serving with a smile! You live up to the hype and then some. Going to the Playa Vista farmer’s market on Saturday and will be stopping...
Read moreDaniel’s bagels recently opened it first location in Palms, literally down the street from me and I couldn’t be more excited. We came in around 10AM on a Saturday and the shop was filled with eager patrons. There was a pop-up barista, serving various lattes, etc. The upbeat music and friendly chatter definitely made it a vibe. We asked for our bagels to be prepared so after maybe 5 or 10 minutes, our fresh bagels were ready. These bagels are everything as advertised, you can tell that they were made freshly in house. The outside is crunchy and buttery in the inside is dense, yet fluffy. The homemade cream cheese is wonderfully lightly salted and add a nice contrast to the richness of the bagel. Overall, the bagels and vibes are a 10 out of 10. Next time we might take a couple to go and just prepare them ourselves but nonetheless, it was still a great first experience. We look forward to walking over...
