Honestly one of the biggest reasons I come here is because of Lorena, she is a waitress here and she is such a sweetheart! She's really great at her job and she has an amazing personality, especially for this type of a job working with people (especially when they aren't always so nice or easy to deal with). She always looks wonderful, she's always presentable and her work uniform is always on point as it should be, she always has her hair put back nicely and of course she's really pretty (especially because her personality makes her shine) which it's never horrible to have a good looking server, especially because she's very respectful and gets the order right, and my daughter and I have our moments we can be a pain but she's always kind and smiling regardless, even when it's super busy, and she always remembers even the little things I ask for when we get our food to go or take out or whatever.. I know this is a Denny's review, but honestly I couldn't imagine coming here really much at all if she was no longer here.... (I'd be heartbroken.. she always puts a smile on my face and same with my 18 year old not always compliant or happy daughter .. she makes us both leave feeling so much better than when we came!) Now as far as the actual establishment, I like the fact that it's 24 hours because I'm kind of a night owl and always hungry. They have a good size parking lot, oh and even during COVID-19 they still are 24 hours for takeout! I think the cooks here do a pretty good job and I think they usually keep the place fairly clean, especially clean during the pandemic from what I can tell. As far as the manager/supervisor, I think he probably should work on his approach with things because I don't think he realizes that he says things that can come across pretty rude even though I'm sure he doesn't mean them that way (he is getting much better though) and I feel he does his job overall pretty well but he could boost the morale much more with the staff if he just added a touch of gentleness to what he says and smiled more (with the employees as well as customers) because I think he probably feels inside as if he's coming across the way he would if he were smiling but I know it can always make a great impact, and i understand that customers don't always (or don't usually) come up smiling to whoever is working... I try to because I feel it helps the situation for everyone, and when I come in smiling saying how are you he's always smiling and asking how I am as well, which is nice of course :) On that note, I'd say the majority of the food I've had is pretty good, the shakes are usually pretty good, especially the specialty shakes and I love the $2,$4,$6,$8 Menu ! Because sometimes you just don't have a lot of money, but there are a fair amount of items on there and they're good portioned for the price. Anyway I never write this long of a review but I wanted to be pretty thorough, and when I have a great experience with a certain server or employee somewhere I try to acknowledge it, because the good things often are dismissed while the bad are publicized. Read moreMy review is mainly directed to the hostess that “helped” us at the front with paying our bill. So I ordered pancakes for my son and they only come with 3. He didn’t want the side that the menu says it comes with so instead, we ordered another 3 pancakes and again, no side. So our waitress was nice enough to make it like the pancakes were each others sides, if that makes sense. Basically, she didn’t charge us for one of the pancakes and told me “don’t worry about it because you didn’t get sides.” I ordered nachos and fries as well, for me. The food was good, as usual. Our waitress was nice, and so was the manager. However, when we were leaving, I went to the front and handed her my receipt and $40 in cash. My total was 23 and some change, so I’m supposed to get 16 something back. She hands me $2 dollars and I give it back to her and tell her she made a mistake. She double checks and tries to explain to me that her system is counting both orders of pancakes and I tell her what the waitress did, but she insist I go around to view her screen. At this point, I’m just getting agitated and want to leave. My son, who is 5 and autistic, is just standing there confused as to what’s happening and he’s trying to wander off, so I tell her “can I please just pay and leave?” She goes “well I want to show you what I see on my screen when I enter the food.” I’m like “I don’t care, I just wanna pay and go.” So she proceeds to hand me the 2 dollars and I’m like “that’s wrong. The waitress gave me the bill, it says 23, so that’s what I’m paying. Can you call the waitress here please? And the manager?” She was GLAD to. She was snickering, thinking they would “get through to me.” The fact was, she had zero customer service. For 16 dollars, you’re being rude with me and telling me I’m wrong when you have no clue what the waitress and I discussed? Luckily, the manager came and handed me the correct change and I was so upset, I walked out before realizing I didn’t tip my waitress. Back in my day, we didn’t have all these computers and tablets, we codes, …etc. I looked at my bill and calculated my change within seconds with her. Like I don’t care about the individual items. Just enter the amount shown at the bottom and give me my change. The waitress is being nice with me and you’re not approving at that? You need to find another position. This clearly...
Read moreI'm usually satisfied with whatever I order from here I come out my way just to eat here. I prefer this Denny's to all others, but sadly I was very disappointed 😞☹️‼️ My food had absolutely no taste I guess I liked my coffee the most 😃. I ordered a double cheeseburger with 4 bacon strips extra crispy ☹️😞. But they were flimsy, and limp it seemed like only two. The meat was super greasy and absolutely no flavor whatsoever bread was too moist, (wet moist) and it was super Bland PERIOD 🤨‼️ On the other hand my fries came too hard , like potato chips some too brown and hard to eat . I Loved the atmosphere I got a chance to rest my weary bones lol. My waitress was SUPER busy and must of forgotten I said crispy bacon 🥓 not fries but her caring ,kind , beautiful service made up for the mishap, I don't want to seem ungrateful because I was very impressed with her service, spreading a cheerful smile and efficiency to every table, not making us feel uncomfortable or like waiting too long. There was another Waitress who should get a AWARD employee of the Month 🥇🏆, she handled large orders with quick procise care. I watch as she balanced heavy trays full of food, how she did it was amazing to see . Placing ALL the food down gently never spilled a drop. Worked her around her tables making sure each customer felt the love and efficiency that comes with her service. I tipped her too because she was a joyful sight to watch handling all that work so very perfectly 👏🏼I totally forgot about the food and decided I'd take it home and doctor it up so my waitress gave me a to go container. I tipped her nicely too, because it's totally not her fault about the BLAND, GREASY 🍔🙄😳 with soggy bacon 🥓 , but the hard french fries 🍟😂🤣 I think she said well done by mistake ‼️ I'm not going to stop coming here because like I said I choose this place above I Hop, who has the best pancakes I ever tasted and you're definitely better than Denny's on York 😖😳😶‼️ Thank You Ladies keep up the EXCELLENT work that you do , greatly...
