Read moreHanMiJung has been around for 15 years!!! It is known for their goat pot and their BBQ pork. The food is absolutely delicious. This is that local mom & pop shop that tastes fabulously homemade.
i had the pleasure of consuming their goat pot stew and spicy pork bulgolgi last night with 2 dear friends and the bf. We were looking for something to fill our stomachs before attending an event at Union. We were SUPER glad that we discovered Han Mi Jung and their excellent service and yummy food.
Han Mi Jung's service was excellent and the bf could not stop raving about it. He said he has not had such great service in a Korean establishment in awhile -- the servers definitely do restaurant customer service right -- checking back every so often to see how we were doing and asking if we needed anything and also verbalizing, 'please let me know if you need anything'.
The food was simply delicious. The goat meat was tender and the stew was seasoned perfectly. It made all of our stomachs warm and happy. The goat pot is definitely for sharing & say 'yes please!' to the fried rice option that they make with the leftover goat pot stew! The spicy pork bulgolgi, 'where have you been all my life?!?' the meat was tender and perfectly marinated: savory, sweet, and spicy (but not too spicy). i have had spicy pork bulgolgi before and Han Mi Jung's version will have me going back for more.
Han Mi Jung does have soju, makkeolli, and sodas in addition to water and tea..

Read moreHan Mi Jung has a limited menu of Korean comfort foods, most notably for its goat stew and goat marinara (goat meat marinated then cooked).
Both dishes use perilla leaves and seeds to help cut through the inherently gamey nature of the meat. I tried both dishes and found the meat to be lean, yet tender. Overall, the dishes including the banchan appetizers were moderately spiced and seemed to have little to no msg.
There’s a write up on the menu about the supposed benefits of goat meat making it sound like a cure all. Can’t vouch for the medical properties, but the goat meat was much lighter in fat compared to beef and pork
I’d be open to going back for the goat dishes again along with trying the Pork bulgogi, which also seems to be popular.
