This is my personal opinion because I loved coming here and the food use to be good but this will be the last time I ever come. When I first got there during brunch hours we saw that the tables weren’t clean but our waitress proceed to sit my family and I down. But she offered to clean it. Which was great but when speaking to us very close we could smell her foul hot breath. Which disturbed my appetite and I felt fatigue at that point. Then we got another waitress and she served us okay. She did proceed to put in our order. Which approximately took around one hour and a half. Mind you this is not a top restaurant and at the time we were there it wasn’t that busy neither. So I wasn’t sure what was the hold up. Finally when my family and I received are food some of it was cold under cook soggy even with out us putting the sauces. My daughter was craving pancakes and when she received them I thought they were the new pancakes with tres leche filling. Well turns out they were just under cook and it was pancake batter that wasn’t done. And then we had an order of pastelitos which were supposed to be empanadas with ground beef and veggies. But when we received them it was just the empanadas shells empty because they forgot to put the meat. We called our waitress and she felt embarrassed when we told her this and she told us the manager wasn’t watching the chefs cook so that’s why this happen. At that point I was just disappointed with the food and the service so when I got my receipt and I also saw at the bottom it said you had to tip $15 dollars for gratitude which was outrageous because you should tip whatever amount you want not even when I go to top notch steak house they charge me that amount of tip. I was trying to speak to a supervisor or manager but they didn’t have anyone present there.I am not a Karen I am just expressing my personal opinion on how this experience was for me and don’t want anyone else to go...
Read moreThis was my first experience with Cuban cuisine in the US and I really didn't know what to expect. I had seen one of their brochures and called-in my order in advance because I didn't know what the inside of the establishment was like. It was a Thursday night and the inside was jam-packed!! Lots of families getting together and there was plenty of laughter that was heard amongst the Latin music playing the background. Although the seating was simple with hard-wooden chairs and tables, it didn't seem to bother anyone. Everyone was smiling and happy! I walked to the window and waited another 5 minutes and paid for my food; got home and wasn't disappointed. The portions were gigantic (even for me)!!! I ordered 2 seafood soups and a veggie burrito. Both were fantastically seasoned and filling! Although they forgot to order my plantains, I was still extremely satisfied with my meal. I recommend if you're...
Read moreEl Baron hosts salsa nights every Tuesday night! I went to this location because normally they have social dancing at Wokano but they're moving to here during the holiday season. I'm such a fan of this location!
It's a small bar/restaurant in Culver City with a lively atmosphere. Every Tuesday, starting at 9pm they host an hour lesson and then social dancing into the night. Entrance is $8. There's a large dance floor with a live band set up but they most play Latin music from the restaurant's DJ system.
The teacher, I think her name was Nicole, is a fun, peppy teacher! I definitely needed a refresher and she broke down all the steps. All levels show up - there were people who were very new and the experienced.
Definitely...
