While visiting friends in the greater Los Angeles area I stumbled across this place after a car show. Full Disclaimer: I'm not an avid Vegan cuisine fan. However this place delivers the goods. My friends and I craved some tacos and Micheladas and this was the only place in the local area so we gave it a shot and I'm really glad we did. The restaurant is full of character and culture which I'm all about. We sat outside s it was a perfect day and they have a great covered outdoor area that is well thought out. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros con Chorizo. It's not real Chorizo but the tofu scramble and "Chorizo" with beans were really good. I polished it off with a well detailed Michelada and after a while we were all human again. I walked inside to check it out and the decor is awesome! Great art pieces and full wall murals depicting icons of LA culture. They even have a cool wine/beer bar and water feature. I would highly recommend visiting this place if you are into vegan fare and even if you're not! Just a heads up, the parking is a little tight as it's in a small plaza that shares several businesses. Enjoy!

If you wanted a planted based restaurant/cafe - The Grain Cafe is definitely for you. My first time and I will be a returning customer. My partner has talked me into trying more planted forward and based restaurants but this one hits it in every mark. At first yes the name you think of organic, fresh, etc. when you walk in, total vibes are really amazing like a speakeasy bar, but fun full with color and vibrant music. They also have a front patio, but if you're not in mid city they also do have 4 other locations! So this is the spiel everything is plant based no real eggs or dairy all plant based and vegan. But full of Mexican flavors and seasoning which is the true winner you wouldn't be able to tell the difference and I love that about plant based restaurants. I got the breakfast burrito which comes with a side of potato wedges. My partner got the chilaquiles which were amazing! To drink water, and I wanted to try the ginger pineapple lemonade! Delicious as well! It has that ginger- taste like your taking a health shot but in a good tasty way! Definitely recommend of course, and coming back!

This is one of the few vegan Mexican restaurants that I truly admire and appreciate. As a true Latina I enjoyed delicious Mexican food. Their food is organic, vegan, and fairly clean. I say fairly because they use Daiya cheese, which is toxic and unhealthy. But if you avoid their cheese, you're good. But I appreciate and I am thankful that their food is not cooked in toxic seed oil. All their food except for their deserts are cooked with olive oil. This is a true healthy vegan place, minus the cheeses lol! You should give it a try tho. The service was good. The ambience is pretty chill and welcoming. Their hot drinks are great. Their crêpes are amazing as well as their waffles!!!. But sadly, their Tlayuda lacked flavor, it was small for the price, and very bland. Would not recommend it. But overall my experience with this establishment was beyond from what I expected. Please support it! We need more places like this one who really care about providing healthy and mostly nontoxic food to people. A true gem

On May 26 on a Thursday I order some food from this café grain café.. first time ordering from them. And I ordered online.. I’m from Northern California I decide to try the vegan sausage Polish sausage with sauerkraut it is the worst ever! The bread seem like they stuck it in the microwave it is beyond hard the sausage they Really cheat you out the sausage, it’s a thin piece of sausage cut 3 times in half sliced in half like where is the rest of the sausage they supposed to rectify this by refunding but I decide to put it on the review anyway because I think this is ridiculous they charge me this amount of money for a small piece of !,”&$**^ I ask so disappointed and so very upset. Oh my this is just awful… I spoke with a very pleasant lady over the phone. I hope she really be a woman of her word. That someone supposed to contact me and refund my money. Once I get my refund I will take the post down. But until then this post to stay up.. buyers beware.. I would like to upload a photo to show my proof.. Now I decided to try the other order which was the vegan pizza I added the extra avocados on it I got photos of this I am so disappointed I want every dime of my money back I’m going to put this on the website not trying to bash them badly but their food is horrible. Maybe I need to go inside and dine in and maybe I’ll get some great food! But ordering online it’s like they’re treating you like giving...
