This place is VERY prejudice. BIPOC, I suggest you avoid this place unless youโre prepared to feel uncomfortable. I was the only person of color when I visited and they made sure to make me feel secondary to their other guests. As soon as I talked to the host, I could sense it. I asked how long the wait was for a table for two. Instead of telling me how long the wait was, she said โthereโs a wait but you can go sit at the bar.โ I politely told her that i prefer to put my name on the list. The wait was only ten minutesโฆ she couldโve said that. Felt like she didnโt want us at a table. Afterwards, I noticed other tables being sat around us. They got their food and WATER before we did. We had to ask for water multiple times. We just werenโt on the same level of priority as their other guests. Our food came out late. The staff was very cold and unfriendly. They only checked in on us once we were finished eating and ready for the check. The two tables next to us were checked in on multiple times. One of the hostess wouldnโt stop giving me dirty looks, to the point where I was ready to have a staring contest with her. The food was really good and Iโm a regular at the Venice location. Howeverโฆ Iโm not sure I want to continue eating here. Staff needs some intense diversity and HR compliance training. Note how all of their hostesses and servers are not people of color. The only POC working here are bussers and kitchen employees: all non-guest...
ย ย ย Read moreThis place is overrated. The food is mediocre at best. We ordered the tuna with tortillas, which is listed under โshareable platesโ but they had the audacity to charge us $16 for 3 mini tortillas with a piece of tuna on top. How can one share that? It was SO bland I had to out salt in it. My friend ordered the fish tacos, which come in a lettuce leaf instead of a tortilla (WHY???) Again it was soooo bland. Like these people donโt know condiments, and use spicy peppers to disguise their lack of culinary skills. Garlic, grilled onions, parsley, cummin anyone?? Not part of the menu at all. We returned the tacos because they were not edible. I am allergic to spicy peppers so my options were super limited. They literally had more vegan options than food without some sort of pepper. I ended up having to eat pizza, which was overpriced for the size. My pizza was like a lox bagel but with pizza crust in it. Not worth it.
This place has great architecture, decor, and service. All staff were very polite and welcoming. I imagine it is an โinfluencers paradiseโ bc the vibe is nice and the food looks very instagramable, but...
ย ย ย Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Great White, and what an exceptional experience it was! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality by our server, Mickey, who was an absolute delight. Her friendly and attentive service set the tone for a fantastic lunch.
The food was simply outstanding! We ordered the steak and frites, which was cooked to perfection, and the crunchy fish with a side of coleslaw. The fish was crispy and flavorful. Each bite was a delight, and we left feeling satisfied but not stuffed.
The ambience of Great White is worth mentioning โ it felt like stepping into an ancient tavern, with a cozy and rustic charm that added to the overall experience. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a night out with friends or a romantic evening.
Overall, I would highly recommend Great White to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. Be sure to ask for Mickey as your server โ she's a gem! We can't wait to come back and try more of their delicious dishes.
Great job, Great White โ you've earned a well-deserved 5...
