Groundwork Coffee Co. — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Two days in a row this establishment and staff has been completely rude to my coworkers and I. First off, we were gifted a gift card for Groundwork. One of us went in with three coffee orders and tried using the card just to be accused by staff that it was fake and couldn’t be used in store. One remarked “That might not even be real”, as if we seriously went in to “steal” coffee. Seriously? And then again today, another one of us went in with another order of three drinks and again were told it couldn’t be used even when trying to explain. Even after asking “how can this card be used” we were just dismissed and got lots of attitude. So now with what was supposed to be a gift, my coworker had to pay out of pocket TWICE. Horrible customer service and attitudes. Don’t spend a penny here, there are plenty of places with kind staff who would gladly help with such a situation. It looks like my mother wasn't the only one experiencing an issue with the short, underweight and arrogant Asian barista (Erin) who claimed to have "over 20 years of experience" and schooled my elderly mother on the "proper Italian cappuccino", only to have it be the bottom 5 worst coffees that she has ever had. He made baseless accusations against her, claiming that she "couldn't speak proper English" and that she was "yelling" when none of these claims were true: she is a long-time customer to Groundwork with many wonderful relationships across all Groundwork franchises (300+ rewards points) and she will not be returning after...

the food is good, coffee is good as well. I’ve never been thrilled with the service here, but it gets worse, and after today I will no longer be coming. I was behind another customer ready to order while the gentleman who took the previous order stood at the counter to eat a baked good and the girl stood on her phone at the barista station. I could be more understanding if they were busy and maybe needed to catch a breather, but there may be 20 people here total. I’d recommend checking out some other cafes [ ie; go get em tiger ] where the food, coffee and service is...
