Let’s be honest, you’re probably scrolling here because of the breakfast burrito… I- will describe my first experience at Guerilla Cafecito on November 6, 2023. Upon entering Guerrilla Cafecito, numerous amount of plants were present along the seating area, a nice place to hang out and chat especially with the natural sunlight beaming inside. I ordered the Breaki burrito (as seen on the picture) to go, Guerrilla staff did not skimp out on the avocado, eggs, or bacon. The tortilla was soft and tasty, soft enough where no yanking or pulling was required. The bacon was thick and smoky, and the eggs were soft, cooked to perfection not too raw nor overcooked. I ordered an extra side of salsa verde, it is not spicy so for those who have a lower tolerance it should be the right fit to complement the burrito. Each bite I would douse salsa verde to the burrito, tasty and satisfying. It is well seasoned, not too salty nor bland. I did not get to try the coffee due to visiting Maru Coffee. In short, the burrito caught my attention, I would like to try the burrito with chorizo instead of bacon, as I see it as the final piece for the burrito to be a top contender in Los Angeles (imo). I will return to try their other items on the menu and coffee.

Update, November 20, 2023: Upon finding out that the 10 freeway was finally open, I decided to head down to Guerrilla Cafecito, specifically to try out their coffee this time around. I ordered a hot coffee while my partner ordered the hot vanilla latte, we also shared a chocolate croissant. The hot coffee was neither hot nor warm, rather it was lukewarm. I totally understand since we entered at around 11:15ish and the location closes at 12pm. The coffee was good but nothing special, was honestly looking to see if they had a pour-over but did not see it on their menu above. The vanilla latte was rated with a “it’s good”, enough to please my partner. The chocolate croissant is a solid 4/5, if warmed up bump it a couple decimal points. The croissant was flaky, buttery, and balanced with dark chocolate. Their pastries are from friends&family, therefore I know each one of their pastries will be tasty. If you’re reading up to this point, ask for your pastries to be slightly warmed up, it will elicit that “outta the oven” texture, taste, and experience. Would I return or recommend? Of course, their breakfast burritos are top tier and their indoor area is pretty cool, will continue to try out new items from their menu and will definitely keep recommending this...

Hi! I am going to leave give this review with as much thought as possible –– I am a neighbor of the Arts District. I choose to spend my money locally because it's a priority of mine to support the food industry in the area. Especially now.

That being said, I love Guerrilla tacos. The "Cafecito" though, is a dissapointment. I do not recommend it unless you're there for a grab-and-go burrito. These were my observations:

The barista/cashier ignores about 95% of your questions and 100% of any variation of of conversation that that doesn't have to do with the order. You might as well have a tablet to take your order. You won't be greeted, and will not feel welcomed.

In regards to the coffee itself, it was not good. It is a shame that the beans are being roasted locally but the brewing! Oh boy... deja mucho que desear.

The ambiance is good, there's a lot of seating: communal tables, benches, and a lot of cushions. Music is tasteful. A lush indoor space, indeed. But it is empty. Why?

As I observed, people are there to grab burritos and go. I had the egg and cheese burrito myself, and I understood. But, If you're looking for a place to have a solo coffee, maybe study and work and keep spending as long as you have service and good coffee!

Not here though, they don't allow you to use their WIFI connection. And they're not nice about it either. So, I get it. You don't want people loitering for hours when they have only spent $5 on a cup of joe. Although, most us who work out of coffee shops know the etiquette and like will gracefully spend in your establishment.

Anyway, you have so much seating. Those communal tables are so wonderful. You are never going to fill them up with bad coffee, bad service and no weeefeeee. What is the point of this space then, besides plants and burritos to go? I'd like to be...

I stopped in after Google searching cafes on my way back down from LA to San Diego. I chose this place out of the many that popped up because of the decor I saw in the pics. I was looking for a combination of unique atmosphere, food and drinks. I didn't want something like a strip mall or chain. I wanted to work from my laptop and certain cafe settings help me with a productive experience. As I approached the cafe I was pleased with all of the greenery with plants all around the entrance. It was calming and refreshing. This aesthetic flowed into the cafe as well with plants everywhere. This really helped soften the space which is set in what seems to be an industrial area. I ended up getting the Brekkie w/ bacon as well as a cortado. They were both amazing. Even better, Edgar the barista was crushing the busy crowd and was still present enough to offer suggestions for my next visit. For someone in a new area entering a new cafe, having such a welcoming person to engage with helps. I'll be...

I stumbled upon this Arts District cafe on IG and was intrigued by its perfect reviews on Google. But when I went to check it out, it didn't feel great right off the bat. The first and only staff arrived 5 minutes after the shop was supposed to open and spent another few minutes just to open the door and get things ready. I ordered a flat white and got 12oz of bland coffee more like hot milk. I also had a GTLA steak burrito since everyone raved about their burritos. It was freshly made in the kitchen of Guerrilla Tacos next door and had a decent amount of steak. On the other hand, it tasted greasy and was loaded with deep fried hash browns while avocado was nowhere to be found. It was a big, filling breakfast, but I wouldn't say I relished it.

This is an interesting place, it sells food and potted plants. We got the breakie burrito and the huevos burrito. When it was handed to us the weight of the bag was very noticeable. These burritos are sizable. The breakie burrito was a good mix of eggs, hash browns and other ingredients. It had a smoky flavor but when you add in some of the salsa it gives a small kick and the smokey flavor turns smooth. The huevos burrito is simple and sweet just eggs and cheese in a tortilla, this is hard to do wrong but they made it very good.
