Ordered the seafood combo for $16. The fried fish is delicious and a large piece. The jumbo shrimp is also delicious; it's large for a shrimp, but considering it's the same price as a piece of fish, I would consider it just as a treat. The oyster was pretty good, the scallops were dripping juice (weird to me in a fried food), but the clams were tiny. You could taste the clams, but not really get any texture (they're the tiny fried crumbs in my pic). The fries were underwhelming and undercooked -- totally not worth it. I'll probably get a la carte instead of a combo next time. If you do get food from here, eat it right away. It's no good even on a 15 minute drive home because it will get soggy. I ate some on site (they have two tiny outdoor tables), and some at home, and it's a world of difference. Get the cocktail sauce, too! It's 40 cents extra, but it's so much better with the food than tartar sauce or ketchup.

I was disappointed and will not return. The Pros Fresh tasting fish and some quality ingredients Friendly staff Parking was easy Reasonable price The Cons The food lacked salt and flavor, and I don’t have a high-salt tolerance. The oil smelled and tasted old. My french fries (chips) were burnt and didn’t have salt. The cook/cashier handled my money and operated the cash register without washing her hands or putting on gloves. A turnoff but I let it slide and rationalized it even though I was displeased. I won’t be back. I’m glad I finally tried it because I loved this place as a child. Other chains don’t do Fish & Chips right. I really wanted to like this place especially since they have oysters, clams and other tasty items like hush puppies.

I was very disappointed in our meal. It has been years since I had eaten here but I remember it was so delicious. Not anymore! I ordered 2 $17 plate with everything. I dont know if I got the left over un fresh last of the batch because everything was fried to much and hard to eat. The shrimp was tuff. The hush puppies were like hard rocks. The fried clams were fried to a crisp. The only items that were Ok was the cole slaw, not worth the money for a small size like 2 bites worth, and the fries. They were OK. I will never eat here again! And I had been eating here since the mid 1950's.

I ordered a 3 piece fish meal from here with a side order of zucchini and a large cole slaw. When I got home much to my surprise and horror I got 3 pieces of Jumbo Shrimp instead. When I called to tell the owner of the mistake she told me she was sorry and would make it right. I told her I would have to go to the grocery market but I would stop by to get the new meal after I had finished. My wife hates shrimp and this was for her. After driving all the way back to pick up my fish. Not only had she not started my order but she wanted me to return the now 1 hour old shrimp. First she gives me the wrong order and now wants to trade huh? I told her i didn't think to bring it back and she told me then she wouldn't make me a new order. After arguing with her she showed me an order form that had 3 piece Jumbo shrimp on it and told me that is what I ordered. What happened to the customer is always right? I left in a huff never to go there again but when I got home my wife had told me that the cole slaw had gone bad and instead of a large she gave us two small orders. We were so disappointed that I called another Fish and Chips place called Northridge Fish (quite a bit farther away) and ordered the same thing from them. Not only was it less expensive but it was fresh tasty and no arguments. Don't go to HS Salt Fish and Chips on Saticoy. She will rip you off, blame you for the wrong order, and charge you more money. Go instead to the best place to buy Fish and Chips in the Valley... Northridge. it is worth the drive and he cares about...

What a nightmare experiance. First the ONLY asian old lady working behind the counter. Was handling the money and cooking the food. Without cleaning her hands or sanitizing. How did they score a "A" grade with the Health Dept. Next, she could not even add 2 Chicken Strip to mt order. And I asked her several times NOT to give me the disgusting Clams, and oysters. She put them on my platter anyway. They were overcooked, over crisp and tatted Horrible. I am so fed up with business establishment exactly like this one. Who.just give you whatever they want, can't adjust the menu to accommodate YOU the Customer who other Business who are shut down now. Would LOVE the business. They were unapprecitive ungrateful. Another asian owned business who cares less about the customers. Take it from me: NEVER eat...
