Hansen's Cakes — Restaurant in Los Angeles

My experience at this Hansen's Cake was good. I first sent a email to bakery place since the venue we are having our wedding at came with a cake package and Hansen's Bakery was one of the vendors to choose from. It's also near where I live so I wouldn't have to drive to downtown LA. When I didn't hear back, I called the number and the lady who answer was able to answer all my questions. She also told me to go to their Facebook page to see what designs I like, their cake flavors tasting which is done with mini cupcakes and she also asked for my email so she can send me their flavor options. You'll have to pay upfront for the cupcake samples, so be ready to give your credit card info over the phone or you can always go to the store to pay first. I guess this is so they don't waste time making the cupcakes if you don't pay upfront. The receipt does say no refund, no changes or cancellation so be aware even with the pandemic we're in. When I went to the store today, it's basically street parking so brings quarters if you don't want to pay for the full hour. There was only 1 lady working the store so just be patience if she's on the phone. When she give me the box of cupcakes, she saw that they forgot to include buttermilk on the side so she give me 2 free cupcakes to try. I assume from all of the rave reviews, and the high recommendations that I had a unique bad experience. I paid $150 for delivery - the cake was 2.5 hours late... all my guests had arrived. The driver laid the invoice with the amount I paid for the cake on the cake table for all of my guests to see. If that wasn't bad enough the cake was not the colors I ordered, not the exact design I ordered. It was ugly. My female friends called me after the wedding and said the wedding was divine but the cake was ridiculous... they thought it was cardboard. I do not need to emphasize how important the wedding cake is... I contacted Hansen's immediately - I spoke with the manager, Ollie, she promised to pass my complaints on to management and get back with me. I have called, emailed, called, and emailed over and over and over and Hansen's is ignoring me. Yes there are a ton of great reviews. But why is it they feel they are so great that they cannot respond nor correct a disaster? All I want is a refund. I paid $150 for delivery-- it was late. I want a refund on the cake and the delivery. BUT HANSEN'S is IGNORING ME. I guess they only care about money. No thought or care for the human behind the order and how her wedding day...

This is a very late review, I apologize for that but I had the GREATEST experience with Hansen's for my daughter's sweet 16 birthday last Oct 2020- during covid even! I went into the store in Tarzana, picked out the cake I wanted and the nicest woman (I don't remember her name) helped me make personalized changes that fit my needs for my daughter's very small party. The cake was perfect in every way and it tasted better than any cake we've eaten. My daughter's 17th birthday is rapidly approaching and of course I'm ordering from Hansen's again. I cannot tell you how delicious their cakes are. When I walked into their Tarzana store it smelled like sugar. It's delicious just standing there. Try it - you will not be disappointed I promise. I posted a photo of my daughter's sweet 16 birthday cake - her party was outside at the beach with only 4 friends (due to covid restrictions) so we ordered a smaller size cake. All the sea shell decorations were a sugary delight as well. Everything was edible. My mouth is watering remembering how yummy our cake was and I must order my daughter's next...
