We were craving for halo-halo and since we heard good reviews, we decided to try. There was only one other group when we arrived and another person waiting for to go, I suppose. Halo-halo was served in a huge bowl, and truly good enough for sharing but the toppings etc were not generous enough so I would personally give it a 2/5 and prolly better to get elsewhere. We explicitly pointed out to the waiter how we only have one sweetened banana from three servings and he said, it’s the bottled mix etc so basically, implying he couldn’t do anything about that. Personally, I beg to differ coz I’d rather open one bottle and save three customers over a possibly 2-3$ mix. Anyway, we also ordered tokwa’t baboy and kare-kare. Now, these two were really delicious and can be shared by at least two people (three if not huge eaters). The sauce for the tokwa’t baboy was so flavorful and can even be used for liempo and the like. Definitely reminds you of home. Same with kare-kare although it wouldn’t hurt to have more veggies. All in all, it was okay but not a place I’d come back too if craving for Filipino food. Also, there was only one waiter during the time we were there and it took him a while (not surprisingly) to get back, get our orders, or...
Read moreThe owners Jun & Vener have done with this restaurant; what I have been saying for a long needed to happen for Filipino Food to go mainstream. They have created a welcoming and classy environment that has to be experienced.
The ambiance and the presentation of the entrees is superb. He takes the most popular dishes and adds unique touches to each one to keep the authentic flavor while creating a uniqueness you will not find elsewhere. All of the vegetables are fresh and cooked to perfection. The lumpia is crunchy with no oiliness or sogginess and the golden brown is perfect with no burnt edges.
All of the meats are top grade and leaner than what you would typically find at other Filipino restaurants. There is a wide selection of beverages including beer and wine.
On top of this, they have a stage for Karaoke and live stand up comedy. The restaurant can host events and they offer catering for your events.
So if you have been wanting to try Filipino food you need to go here. If you are already familiar with Philippine cuisine, why aren't you here enjoying the food. This is a must go to place and for me it was worth the 40 mile drive and 1.5...
Read moreIm sorry but something went terribly wrong this day. The food was terrible . Edible, yes, but terrible. We went there for breakfast and they dont serve coffee. What restaurant doesnt have coffee? The garlic rice served with breakfast tasted like they stir fried it in the same pan as their fish. All three plates tasted the same- like fish. The beef was hard and looked old. The tocino wasn't even sweet. Isnt it supposed to be at least a little sweet? My mom only ate the eggs because the rest was so bad. The pancit was weird too. The noodle was a thick round noodle that looked like the cook took it out of the boiling water and slapped it right on the plate. It was wet and had poor taste. The soup was if they just boiled the broth, threw the vegetables in and served. When i bit into the corn, it was still cold! The cabbage was raw. The Thai tea had a strange taste too. The only thing that tasted "good" was the calamari. I love Filipino food and eat it a lot but im never...
