L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in Los Angeles

store hours posted says 10 p.m. however when I walked in at 9:30 p.m. the girl who was sweeping the floor didn't even look up and just shouted only you fry food. When I asked when do you stop doing grilled food as she looks up at the clock and sees that it's 9:30 and says at 9:30. I made a comment saying but I really want it something grilled since L&L is a Hawaiian barbecue restaurant. It wasn't really even a complaint but a comment. Finally she makes eye contact with me and shouts " there are only two people here and we have to clean the grill, the restaurant and besides I have to take the bus home! " I was dumbfounded still ordered chicken katsu. she didn't reply and begin to punch some numbers on the cash register. so I said do you even want to know the size of my order? (There are two sizes) again she just looks up no verbal response. I tell her regular and again no response. after punching some numbers on the cash register she shouts out the dollar amount. I give her the cash and she has me my change all the while still not making eye contact. Who's back to sweeping the floor and I sit and wait when the food comes out on the counter she goes back places the food on the counter says here it is and goes back to sweeping the floor. I asked her do you have the sauce that goes with this order as she lets out a big sigh and says I have to give it to you. Shiba grudgingly goes back and hands me to containers of the sauce all the while not making any eye contact. as I'm headed out the door I walked right past her and yes she makes no attempt to say goodbye or thank you or anything. We stopped by yesterday for dinner after my mom heard about this place through a friend. The idea was to do a take out but at the last minute we decided to stay in, so i asked the girl on the front counter to get us some plates and silverware but she acted like i was incomodating her. Well of course we were really disappointed specially after it was obvious the way she treated us for not knowing what we wanted when we ordered. Food was alright at best nothing to be excited about. Seafood and chicken platters were seasoned properly but the macaroni salad was lukewarm when it's supposed to be cold. The beef was way too greasy and tough to really enjoy . In my opinion their prices are too high for the quality of the food they send out. Sometimes you put up with worthless service when the food is delicious but when even what you eat is substandard then you might reconsider the...

Sadly it was one of the worse L&L places.. maybe its the area since I've experienced it before. Nicer area better quality of food. The short ribs were bad. Honestly bad. Hard like they've been sitting there or maybe a day old. And they had a bad taste. Lemon chicken was extremely lemony which its fine if it had at least some taste to it not just lemon. Rice was over cook. Sticky and starchy. The chicken katsu was the better taste of all and yet was more breading than chicken. Macaroni pasta was good.
