La Michoacana Top's Ice cream Parlor — Restaurant in Los Angeles

We used to go to their previous location across the street all the time. It was nice, spacious with more options. The new location is much smaller with no indoor seating.

The lady who helped me knew anything about her job and didn't speak a word of English. I asked her if I could sample the Tamarind then I said Tamarindo as she seemed to not understand a single thing and she looked at me like I had 3 heads. I even pointed at it and she was like completely lost and didn't know how to read their own labels and was super confused. Then I asked her for the soursop in a small cup and again no idea what to do or what I was talking about. I had to point to the flavor. Then my roommate ordered the coconut ice cream bar and she was like huhhhh? We had to walk her to the other side and again pointed. She seemed like she was on another planet. Don't get how you can have someone working there who not only doesnt speak English, but doesn't understand the flavors or even pointing. After going to their other location for years not sure if I'll be returning to...

So disappointed in their products. Bought three items and all were trash, literally I had throw them away. Their esquite had so much mayo it was disgusting and inedible. It was so bad it felt like it was prepared badly on purpose. Their arroz con leche paleta was tasteless and the rice was raw, not undercooked. Who wants to eat raw rice as a treat? Not me. And lastly a chicle ice cream my six year old did not finish because it was too sweet. That says a lot. Keep driving and find...

Their snacks and ice cream are very good. Staff is friendly, nice and attentive. The only reason why I didn't give them more than three stars is because I trusted them when told their ice cream cakes were good, and they were not. There was a piece of what looked like wax paper or tissue mixed into a slice I gave the birthday person. The ice cream part was okay, but the icing and bread taste stale and old. I could've gotten a much better cake from Portos for the same price ($45)...
