I can't state how much I love this place.
Located on Van Owen just a touch East of Reseda (and around the corner from the much smaller Melody's Kitchen, operated by the same family), Las Fuentes is sandwiched in between a mess of industrial automotive shops (collision repair, tires, brakes, bodywork, etc). There's a tiny parking lot with space for 5 or 6 cars, half of which are handicapped reserved.
Inside the restaurant, the line to order forms at the East-most side of he building. There are two registers, but it seems like half the time only one of them is manned. Any time that's near a meal-time, the line will stretch its way out the door, even while all the tables are packed. If you're not familiar with the food, the menu is on the wall up front near the registers.
I've eaten my way through about a third of the menu so far and it's all been excellent. You can't go wrong with any of it. Specials are written on a grease-board on the counter with the registers. Las Fuentes does serve beer (bottle and tap). You need to order chips and salsa separately if you want chips and salsa; you won't automatically get chips with your meal.
I wouldn't go with more than 4 people if you're expecting to sit together. You might be able to manage up to 6 if you get lucky and find adjacent tables that can be moved together. During busy times, seating more than 2 might be challenging. They do have some tables outside on a narrow strip of walkway adjacent to the sidewalk.
After paying, you will receive an electronic locator to take to your table. The kitchen brings out all food and any non-fountain drinks using the locator.

Rosie came over to tell me to move because the table I was sitting at was already reserved for a group, which I had allowed to order before us. She stated that nobody is able to sit at a table prior to completing their order. Fine if that's a new rule.
I moved and waited to order until the rest of our party entered the restaurant. We ordered but prior to that Rosie held a huddle with the result of the team to point me out. Once I ordered I realized the table which I had previously sat at was occupied by a couple who hadn't yet ordered. I pointed this out to Rosie and she said, "well I am the manager". I said, "Ok, you're the manager and that's fine." With an arrogant attitude she said, "Yes, in case you were going to complain, I am letting you know I am the manager". I told her that's fine and all but she is "just a manager".
I believe good customer service still should exist. She clearly needs additional training. She may be a manager but she is not an owner and it would be even worse if she were the owner and was treating people rudely and picking and choosing who her rules apply to.
Bottomline my friends, family, and I have been coming here for many years and we never had a bad experience (other than seeing a roach once) until today.
Hoping Rosie didn't tell the rest of the staff to do anything to our food. She definitely should be working at a fast...
Read moreThis place is epic. Recommend it to anyone who will listen. LoL no joke!! They are often quite busy at lunch and dinner times. As can be expected anywhere the food is that good. Well. worth the wait. Or you can order ahead and pick it up to go. My first visit to Las Fuentes was back in 1988. It's grown so much since then. And The quality of the food has not changed a bit. Family owned and operated. Clean, seating is comfortable enough, I've always loved their bright colorful decor. Food is really very good and well presented. Their staff is always friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Their Chips and the Salsas in the bar are always fresh and delicious. (I highly recommend their avocado salsa. SO GOOD Just a little spicy! And Dee-lish! I swear I can just drink it by itself! Sometimes I do! LoL) I CRAVE their beef fautas. I get the combo It's 1 of my 2 favorite menu items. 2nd fave is their Tortas! OMG They are next level good! Their Burrito Pollo con Rajas, it's their signature burrito for a reason! The Chicken Consome is off the hook. (When anyone I know gets sick I always stop in and get them some of this delicious substantial soup!) To be perfectly honest, in the 25yrs I've been coming to Las Fuentes, I've personally never been disappointed. Never been served anything that I didn't like. I can't say that for most places. Especially after so many years. That's a personal best track...
