The BEST thing to happen to Chinatown since Friends, and coincidentally set up shop in Friends' old location! Pizza by the slice with that classic almost-burnt crispy crust, fried zucchini that will make you forget you're eating a veggie, and mortadella elevated al la Little Tommy. Staff is amazingly friendly, you can't NOT feel like they've always been your neighborhood spot and that you belong there.

They also take care oftheir neighbors in return. When the LA wildfires devastated nearby Altadena Malibu and other areas in January the owner and staff were quick to respond producing literally thousands of meals for First Responders volunteers and anyone displaced who needed a hot meal. They sent out the bat signal on Instagram that they needed help getting the meals delivered and the neighborhood responded in turn with us all literally lined up waiting to take bratwurst and pizza and bottled drinks and more to those in need, all thanks to Tommy and his crew.

The only drawback is if you are walking there at night to pick up your food or eat there in person you kind of have to elbow your way through a crowd of man buns, vocal fry and cigarette smoke from the nearby wine bar, but it's it's a small price to pay for the awesomeness that...

Have always loved LaSorted's -- especially their father-in-law sandwich. I tried the new location twice and had disappointing experiences both times, specifically with the execution of the food.

First Visit: Ordered a mortadella sandwich, a cheese slice, and a special of the month slice. Both slices were totally overcooked and not fresh. The cheese slice was too salty and thin. (I have high salt tolerance, but have gotten pizza from LaSorted's before that was so salty that it was inedible). The flavor of the special slice (The Philippe's slice) was not good, and the person I was with agreed.

Second Visit: Got the mortadella sandwich on focaccia. It was just a mess... super sloppy and messy with a weird ratio of ingredients. Also at the new price of $17 + tax, it's now starting to feel unaffordable.

My pitch to improve would be: -- better slice reheating practices and fresher pies, if possible. Don't nuke the slices when they get reheated. -- monitor the salt levels of the pies more closely, especially the Mamba -- more consistency between locations, because I am now convinced if I want it the taste and execution the way I expect it, I need to order from...

La Sorted in Chinatown has quickly earned a reputation for delivering an unforgettable pizza experience. Their signature upside-down pizza is a standout—so good, it’s easily one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The crust is perfectly crispy on the outside and the sauce, layered on top of the cheese, bursts with rich flavor in every bite. But what really sets La Sorted apart is the unique vibe of the restaurant, which radiates a distinct Los Angeles energy. It’s casual, vibrant, and unapologetically authentic, a true reflection of the city’s eclectic food scene.

Beyond the pizza, there’s an extra level of care in every detail that reveals the chef’s passion for LA food culture. Case in point: the Dodger dog topped with Phillipes famous hot mustard. It’s a small but significant touch that speaks volumes about the chef’s commitment to honoring local culinary traditions while putting a creative twist on them. This isn’t just a place to grab a slice—it’s a celebration of LA’s diverse flavors and culture. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind pizza spot with heart, La Sorted is a must-visit. Go...

workers need to be trained on proper food handling as the person who was packing my order has no regards for food born illness and health safety. never been here so i wanted to try it. i went to pick up an order i paid for and the cashier girl (i say cashier because i saw her handle cash and a stapler) grabbed my food with bare hands and put it in the box. baffled, i requested she use gloves or tongs. she said oh i washed my hands already. i told her i literally saw you handle cash and stapler, can i get a new order please. her response was, do you want me to wash my hands again or something? i told her yes and use gloves or utensils. she came back (not sure if she washed) and picked up my food AGAIN with bare hands. At this point this person just doesnt know whats wrong here so i got my order (prepaid) and left. i brought the order home to take a photo to show i am not just making it up and threw it away. very unsanitary and dangerous. the cashier was a girl with curly hair. working 5/1 thurs night. i genuinely hope the owner reads this and replies with something other than a generic robot response

Amazing pizza at fair prices. Update: I craved their pizza after writing my initial review and went back for a pepperoni slice ($5). It was great. Original: I had a Mookie slice ($6), which had mushroom, garlic, cheese, and a slice of Upside Down Trifecta ($6), which had tomato sauce, vodka sauce, and pesto on top of cheese. Both tasted phenomenal. The different cheeses together didn't overshadow the mushroom on the Mookie slice and the sauces worked together well for the Trifecta. However, the standout feature was the crispness and integrity of the bread. Both slices were perfectly baked — no burning or undercooking — and they didn't droop when held with one hand by the edge. To me, this characteristic is what separates the amazing pizzas from the good pizzas, because toppings deserve a strong foundation. The slices start at just $4. They have sandwiches, salads, fried foods, and more. Check this place out for some amazing food.
