I really like this place. It's a pretty large restaurant and there is always a spot to go for a quiet meal. The food is standard Mexican American fare. There are a two outdoor areas to have a meal or a drink. The restaurant is a popular celebrity hideout. It's located near a few Studios on Melrose and is almost always quiet. A newspaper article framed on the wall describes the atmosphere perfectly "where the elite meet discreetly."

This place has been there for years, has a placque from the city of Los Angeles in appreciation, and serves the best salad dressing I've ever tasted. The food is delicious, although a bit pricey, I make it a definite stop on my list whenever I'm in the area.

We went because this is where Linda Rondstat and Governor Jerry Brown met. Very authentic old school Mexican food. Spicy hot sauce and good food, friendly service. Liked it a lot. 2022 and 2023 update: it closed during the pandemic and has not re-opened.

At first glance it appeared to be a nice place for my friend and i to have dinner & we regreted it the entire time we were there. Our waitress did not appear to have too many tables to handle and yet she could not do anything right. First my friend ordered a drink from bar and our waitress wanted to tell him they were out of basic items that no restaurant with a bar should be without. Then we asked to get an appetizer and it was never brought during the meal. It took an hour for her to even take our order. We ordered beef and after another lengthy wait she comes with chicken and actually acted put out when my friend refused wrong food and asked for what he ordered. I took wrong food, it had taken 1 1/2 hours to get wrong food and i was hungry. So it was another hour for my friend to get his food and for us to eat our meal. So 2 1/2 hours later as we got check we asked about drink from the bar that was never done and about our appetizer order the waitress just shrugged like it was no big deal. Then to add insult to injury the waitress says to us under her breath something about being drunk and it being her birthday. So we assumed she had work on her birthday so were prepared to be easy on her and then she joked that her birthday had been 2 days ago and she was still not over it. I would of spoken to the manager right then but my friend and i were both very unhappy and i was getting angrier by the minute. I have been a Chef for years and there is no way that i would of given a bill to a customer that had been gotten the kind of service i got that night. But yet we were still presented with a bill where we were charged for the drink from bar that was never brought to table and not once did I hear anything like an apology for the horrible service and treatment we got. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AND will never recommend it....

Walked in at 6:02pm, early for a friend's birthday celebration. We were the only ones in the whole restaurant. The gentleman who initially greeted us was very nice. We asked if they had happy hour and he said yes. Another gentleman came over to give menus and said it's not happy hour anymore. We sighed and said ok...when is happy hour. 4-6pm!!! Almost any place will still honor within a few minutes. Especially when nobody is there. Wouldn't customer service be a top priority?? We kinda understood though and ordered. We got a margarita ($12 vs $7 for happy hour) Cadillac style. We order cadillac margaritas often at Mexican restaurants. This was the first we've ever returned. Extremely sweet and basically tasted like lime juice. Definitely don't recommend the margarita. Once the bday girl and others arrived it was a nice atmosphere but food was ok, drinks not good, and the particular service was disappointing. Excited to try something new but we...

An amazing Hollywood establishment that has not changed since the 60s. Hosted by an incredible waiter by the name of Edwin we enjoyed the evening with the best margaritas in town and excellent Mexican cuisine. Nestled right on the corner of Melrose avenue right across the street from Paramount studios, you could almost pass this place if you weren't paying attention but do make the effort if you have not been. It's a wonderful dining experience, fast and friendly service with ambiance and Hollywood history all...
