Just had lunch and was treated so rudely. They made the bowl wrong three times. I asked for no corn, no soy cream bc of dietary restrictions. They brought out the bowl with corn and no beans. Did not ask for no beans. Then they re made it again wrong with no beans. Asked for the bowl I ordered and asked with beans- as it states on the menu. They were so rude, told me I asked for no beans- which I DID NOT. Never took responsibility and had horrible attitude when they were 100 percent responsible for messing up the order. Then I overheard the chef making comments about having to remake the order and seemed annoyed. Then I heard the guy who took my order telling him it wasnt his fault. But the problem was- he did take the order wrong. It was beyond rude for any employee to treat a customer that way. It was horrific that he told me I lied about my order. Also took forever to get two items. Horrible customer service and rude. For a place that supposedly caters to dietary restrictions this place had no clue to even take an order correctly and that’s unfortunate. They need to be more aware of who is working there because I volunteered during the pandemic handing out M Cafe food at local hospitals ( with the owner) and he was a lovely person…so it’s unfortunate that his staff is so rude and unable to take proper orders. Beyond horrible...
Read moreTL;DR: Great vegan options, nice and helpful employees, and a really nice aesthetic to the store. All around I would recommend checking this place out.
I came in for a quick drink in the evening and ordered a Nourishing Latte. It definitely tasted unique, unlike any other latte I've ever had which is by no means a bad thing. I actually enjoyed it more than I expected to when reading it on the menu.
Speaking of the menu, it is very unique as far as cafes go. Just about everything on the menu is something you can't find anywhere else and that alone justifies repeat visits just to try and see how everything is.
One other thing that I didn't see other reviews talk about is the availability of other Japanese products for sale such as tea leaves and dashi packets. So if you're looking to make anything like that at home, or want to buy it as a gift for someone else, this place is not a bad place to take a look at!
Finally, the people running the place are super chill. I had some trouble understanding the menu and what I wanted but the person running the register was really patient with me and walked me through the options. All around...
Read moreI really liked this place but not everything I tried were mind blowing. I got the crispy tempeh sandwich which was amazing! The tempeh was very tasty and didn’t taste too fermented, if that makes sense. With every sandwich you can get a side so I got the wasabi sweet potato side which was great too. It wasn’t too overwhelmingly wasabi flavoured and even had some sweetness to it from the sweet potatoes which I liked. However my friend ordered the avocado onigiri Tartine which sounded good but there was just too much avocado on it and it wasn’t seasoned so it felt like something was missing. He got a side of cabbage broccoli salad, it was good but in my opinion the broccoli could have been cooked more because the pieces were too big and almost raw. We also got a side of their nacho fries which was really good and well seasoned. I should also give a shout out to the people who work there because they were really kind and suggested us some good items. Also, this place isn’t vegan, they do offer seafood options so if you eat seafood you might find something...
