I visited SVDLA for the first time June 10, 2023. While this location is the largest, in square footage, thrift store the clothing quality wasnât that great or exceptional. I know of much better thrift stores with much better quality clothing items. However I felt like the furniture was pretty nice and many pieces were available reasonably priced. The store floor workers werenât very knowledgeable about the ST Vincent De Paul loyalty card or Veteran discounts. Veteran/Military discounts are M-F and you sign up for a loyalty card at the register to earn points that convert to dollars that you can use to shop with. The workers werenât that friendly either although the cashier that checked me out was very nice to me. I say just support your closest local thrift store they need you. I have lived in and shopped all over SoCal & beyond. I have found some gem thrift stores but they are all very similar and I spent the day in LA County shopping thrift stores, I was excited about this one but I was disappointed. Also the mens clothes were much cheaper here than the womens or childrens. I did find a lot of 50% off items. But again the clothes were really worn out here. I wouldnât shop here for clothes they have seen the life beaten out of them here. But if youâre specifically looking for furniture this is a good stop to look. Actually I wonât be going back to this location.
About two weeks later I visited the St Vincent De Paul thrift store Long Beach location and I felt like the LB location had WAY better clothing selection and many items with tags still attached in all ages and genders. There were a lot of designer label items reasonably priced, some were too pricey for a thrift store though. But overall the clothing selection is the best I have seen at any thrift store in SoCal aside from one or two others. Excellent customer service and friendly staff. On-site parking in the rear. I liked that this location was not packed like the other one. Everyone here was respectful. Overall I will keep shopping đď¸ at this location. đ Great shopping experience at this location.

Read moreI came to this thrift store a couple of times and I will never be coming back. The last time I was there I found this blouse that had no tag, when I got to the cashier I was told they couldnât sell it to me, I was with my mom so my mom asked another employee to price it and this man ( the employee ) was really nice and took it to the back and came back with the blouse priced. But today I went and I found some jeans that I really liked and had two price tags tugged in the pocket. So when I got the cashier she said she couldnât sell it to me because she didnât know which tag was the accurate one. Both tags had the same price 12.99, I told her they are the same price, then she said oh but I wonât be able to sell it to you because it doesnât have the tag attached. I asked her if she can have somebody price it and she said no she couldnât do that. I told her they had previously priced another item before. She said no that they were just going to send the jeans back to get it priced but she couldnât sell it to me. So I just walked out didnât buy anything at all. This is a thrift store, were they get everything donated for free, itâs ridiculous that they couldnât priced one item for a customer. Itâs not like they losing any money for the jeans because they got them for free. If thatâs their policy itâs a ridiculous policy. Plus I tried to donated some clothes and other stuff and I was told that they are only accepting clothes nothing else because they are so full of stuff in the back and the employee also said a lot of stuff that the people donate they just throw it away in the trash because they are so full. I will never come and buy or donate...
Read moreis it just me or did this place get a little more expensive than what it used to be...i shopped here more often before than I have been for that reason, high prices...i used to like their used book section when it was located near the entrance to the store and seemed a mile long, it got hot though during the summer season as it was located nearby a row of windows but an early morning visit would allow you hours of book browsing before the hot sun shined on that spot...i used to be able to find digital cameras there but those have been obsolete from the shelves lately and the ones there on display now are more for display than use, as is the vintage Brownie style camera there now that's priced at fifty-dollars and that seems way overpriced for something you'll get no use out of and is at best a shelf adornment...gone is the furniture and knick-knack section that was to the right of the store as you walked in, there are now rows and rows of clothes and all that other stuff got moved to the opposite side of the store, taking away a good chunk of what little bit of books they had displayed...i still find time on an early Sunday morning to stop here and browse around a while, still seems like one of the bigger thrift stores here in LA, just getting a little...
