Placed an order a few days ago, I didn't realize they were closing much earlier than usual, due to the holidays. I usually do not like saying negative things about a business, but this place has gone downhill, big time. I use to go to this Movita 3-4 times a week. Now it's about once every 4 months? The business is always dirty. Counters are always covered in fruit pieces and residue from previous orders while employees essentially talk and hang out and do nothing. Drinks take much longer to make since staff prefers to talk. And when you order for delivery they forget to put half of the things you paid for on your acai bowl or drinks. Christmas Eve came around, I was working that day, figured hey , let's order some movita. Yea no, that was the worst thing I could've done that day! I put the order through DoorDash delivery, the order was placed, then an employee at the smoothie shop pressed a button to confirm they were making the order. When the delivery driver showed up to the smoothie shop, I get a message from my delivery driver telling me, she has bad news, they've started cleaning, and the smoothie shop does not have your drink, they're not making it, and YOU have to cancel it on your side. Let me mind you, when one decides to cancel an order that was already processed, DoorDash/uber eats charges the customer. It said that on the cancellation, and i discussed this with the delivery driver. When the driver told this to the staff, they were rude and short and kept telling her to tell ME to cancel after THEY pressed a button on their end. What they should've done is cancel the order and not take it. But instead they took it and did this. Now, I know why they did this. Because THEY did not want to be penalized. So, while I was at work, I had to deal with DoorDash on the phone, and yesterday 12/27/2024, I had to hop on the phone with my bank since movita decided to charge for drinks they did not make. The manger that runs this place is an ego trippin' asian guy, that hires staff based on looks and how exotic their gel nails are. From my understanding, and from working food service myself, Food handlers should keep their fingernails short and clean to prevent the spread of microorganisms to food. Interesting how the counters are always dirty and the shop looks like complete utter garbage, and as far as the staff, well, when you have a manager with an ego like that, hiring based on looks not skill, no wonder the business is going to crap. Definitely will never ever, be going to this location ever again. It really sucks, especially since I like Movitas story on how and why they got started. I'd love to support it, they have great ingredients. But, when cleanliness is not a priority and neither is customer service, and the hiring manager is...
