Panda Express — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I visited this location on 11/29 at 7:30pm the manager on duties name is Chandra Dewi. When I approached the counter to order Chandra was having a conversation with her employee in regards to his schedule and how she will not be tolerating his availability, if he wants to work there, he will work when she gives him hours- he pleaded that his schooling does interfere, she stated that’s not her problem, it is her problem if she doesn’t like his availability she should have hired him in the first place. She said she wasn’t going to spend her time having to monitor him working implying that if he works less hours he will be less trained. She threatened that she has control over how much he earns and will schedule him as she sees fit. She then scolded him for ignoring me at the counter. I was so flustered by her arrogance towards this staff member I fumbled through my order.

I kept my ears open and watched her approach a second employee and ask if she had completed a task, I couldn’t hear her response clearly, but Chandra responded “you do not speak to me this way, you say yes or no ma’am.” And continued to pace back and forth and sip her water while her employees tended to customers, somehow in a very upbeat manor- but definitely in a way that they feared repercussion. A female employee came to clean the dining room and she snapped at her demanding her to clean a table AGAIN and sweep NOW.

As a former restaurant manager of 5 years had I ever treated my staff the way she did this evening I would hope to god they would have walked out on me.

$17 an hour to be talked down to in a such a demeaning way is laughable. To the staff at this location, Lucas L. (You we’re super nice at the register THANK YOU) please know that there are so many places that would be happy to employ you all. I know this time of year is very difficult but coming off of a year of covid, there really has never been a better time for finding a job. I believe that all of you deserve better than Ms Dewi.

Ms Dewi, instead of insulting you, I’ll leave one last message to your employees. Quit. It’s not worth it,...

The panda express is right across from the Starbucks and it has plenty of parking in the lot. When you are craving quick and easy in the area, this is a good panda to go to. If you’re like me and you haven’t been to Panda Express in a few years, you should know that they no longer do samples, which seems really common after COVID.

I tried ordering online and the website didn’t work so I just went in to order. They do a good job with customer service in person and keeping everything clean and as fresh as possible. For example, they ran out of “super greens” broccoli and instead of pulling another pre-made tray from the back, they let me know it would be a few minutes for a new batch to be made.

The cabbage (or at least I think it was cabbage?) was pretty soggy and overall the food was very heavy. I got one of the last 3 chicken egg rolls and it tasted like it had been sitting there for a while, and it was so dry I needed about 4 of the sweet & sour packs to be able to eat it. While I’m really glad they have a vegan option, the Beyond Original Orange Chicken had a very unusual soggy chewy consistency and wasn’t even close to the original in my book. I was going to get the beef & broccoli, but it looked very unappetizing in the tray (the beef looked gray) so I went with the asada steak instead.

If you’re not used to eating fast food, this won’t sit well...

went to this location one hour before closing with my daughter and husband , knowing that they will still have their station full . When we got there they only had one station with only 4 entrees available and just rice and chow mien 2 of the entrees from there were already looking old , they told me if I wanted the other entrees I had to wait 20-25 mins .. they were already cleaning the other station where the other entrees were . I was so dissatisfied and disappointed that we just decided to leave. In the end I ordered it because it was too late to order anywhere so I ordered online so they maybe make an exception to make our food but they just made adjustments. after when I picked up the order they told me if I want some free plates that were made for a door dash order because it was never picked up . So I accepted so I can give it to someone in need… when I got home and opened up my order I realized the changes , instead of the items I ordered it was replaced for it was replaced with Kun pao chicken (string bean & mushroom chicken)… i thought that they would make them after I ordered it online but they didn’t. They just put the items they had left in the steam table and didnt make the items we had ordered online .. I never thought they would do this …i was so disappointed...
