Let's start with the obvious: if you're reading reviews, you've probably seen the negative reviews regarding service or food quality. I have to wonder if those people went to the same place I did. Service: My girl and I went there for lunch expecting that even if there was a grain of truth to the reviews, they were probably exaggerated. We went in and we're immediately greated by the young man at the counter, he gave us a minute to look over the menu, took our order and said he'd have it ready in 20±mins, so we let him know we were gonna walk down Ventura and come back. When we got back we waited MAYBE 5mins outside, and then the second we walked in he called out my order. Food: How do I explain the pizza? Have you watched the episode of Bon Appetit when Brad Leone works at a NYC Pizza kitchen for a day? Do you remember how delicious those pies looked? This tasted BETTER than those pies looked. As you can see from the picture, we didn't even make it home. We tried a slice while we were walking to the car, and it was SO delicious we finished most of the pie standing behind the car. It was hot, cheesy, meaty, greasy (in the best way), and so friggin delicious. The sauce was incredibly well seasoned, the toppings were far from skimpy, and the cheese was stretchy and delicious. A side note about the service: while we were throwing some spicy pepper flakes on the pizza before we left, a young woman came in. She was instantly recognized by name, by the entire crew. It was adorable, as she is clearly a regular, and the whole team likes her. TLDR It's delicious. Idk what people want when they come here, but it met and exceeded all of my expectations.

I grew up eating Pizza Wagon on the streets of Brooklyn for 30 years—then I moved to LA, becoming depressed & being void of the great slices NYC so readily offered. Imagine my joy when I found out Anthony brought the real deal Pizza Wagon here! What a privilege to have him, bringing the best NYC-style slice in the whole city, right here in Sherman Oaks! If you’re looking to be transported to a breezy summer day standing on a curb in NYC just for a minute—all you have to do is take one bite of this pie. I am convinced that any poor review of this place were either 1) not interested in the freshness of this pizza, and ate it wrong by waiting for it to get soggy, OR 2) not used to the bonafide FUHGEDDABOUDIT Brooklyn vibes that this place offers—seeing your delicious pie hand tossed by a fast-talking, no-funny-biz Brooklynite. But if you’re interested in a true NYC slice, made & trusted by true NYC natives—then Pizza Wagon is the place for you!

NYC cheese slices are my jam, and we have an embarrassment of riches in Sherman Oaks. Within a mile of each other, there are three, count 'em three, authentic NY slice shops. My son and I visited all three of them on a self-guided cheese slice tour of Sherman Oaks. Pizza Wagon was stop three on the tour! The atmosphere is good...NY decor on the walls in what feels like a truly neighborhood / not-chain space. The service was great too...the staff worked quickly and were abundantly friendly and helpful. They do a good job with authentic style slices...the right amount of crisp on the crust and a good ratio of sauce versus cheese. The chew was good, though both the crust and sauce don't quite have the superior flavor profile of the nearby places. It's definitely a good alternative to those, though, and miles ahead of the major chain pizzas in terms of NY style.

Reviewing as someone who only eats vegan.

Service was fine, but could have been friendlier. Not asking for much here though, it's a pizza place. Bright on the inside, and a bit too modern to remind me of a Brooklyn pizzeria. Some small tables in- & out- side, and a small counter to eat at. Tables all have salt, pepper, red pepper, oregano, & garlic powder.

Menu lists "vegan" as a slice option, which is actually why I went. Asked the cashier and was told that they do not sell vegan pizza by the slice. Why have it as a menu option? Just make a red pie & add vegan cheese when reheating. Easy. Not wanting to bring the mood down, I ordered a 16" pie, which was cheaper than other places I've been. The vegan pizza is the only vegan item on the menu (besides some toppings), which is a bit upsetting.

When the pizza came out, it smelled and tasted incredible. The thin crust had a crispness on the bottom & the sauce was pretty sweet. Vegan cheese has no good form, straight out of the oven it was like molten lava.

After a 15-ish minute drive home I had more pizza. Once cooled down, the cheese was more enjoyable, but the crust somehow became chewy. Made me wish I ate more at the restaurant.

Overall I'd go back, but I wish they had more options for me & didn't advertise an item they don't have available. Also I've never had pizza where fresh it's delicious and cold after a couple hours it tastes like I should have thrown it...

I was really excited to order from this place. With all the reviews here, I thought I was about to have the best pizza of my life!!! I ordered through Postmates because all of the other delivery services were down. Thankfully, I used their free-delivery trial. They had excellent customer service. However, I was told that I would be given "Some peppers and Parmesan" because it was taking so long. This is standard procedure and has been given with every pizza that I order from anywhere, so it wasn't something extra just standard/complimentary. I ordered a pepperoni pizza. Let me just say that the sauce made the WHOLE pizza. So flavorful. The pepperoni was okay. I don't know if it was the sauce or the pepperoni, but it did have a little spicy kick to it. If I ever order from them again, I would go in person so that I would get my pizza fresh and I would ask for extra cheese. There was barely any cheese IF ANY at all. Kinda disappointing. (more of a "tomato pie" which at the time I really knew nothing about). The reason I'm giving them three stars is for the customer service and the great sauce. The pizza itself was very mediocre. Come on guys, it's supposed to represent Brooklyn. I had higher expectations. I hope it's...
