The staff was friendly but slow. It was in-between lunch & dinner,so it was slow, but service was even slower. We got seated immediately, but took a long time to get water. Our drink order came at the same time as the water. Lots of staff visible but just slow. Our food came in a good time,it was good & had flavor but for being a Mexican restaurant it didn't have a real authentic Mexican flavor that you'd expect from an Authentic Mexican restaurant. It was more of a Gringo Mexican taste. It wasn't bad but it wasn't as good as it could have been. Three of us had Beef Flautas, the beans needed salt and they were dry. The rice needed flavor it was very bland. The Flautas were good the beef had some flavor but could have been kicked up a notch in seasonings. My cousin had perfectly cooked ones, one of my Flautas was over cooked & dry, you could see the difference in the fry of it, it was much darker than the golden brown of the other one. My mom's were on the darker side. It didn't have the right seasoning, but was edible. The sour cream & guacamole gave it some moisture, so they weren't so dry. My other cousin had a combo plate of cheese enchilada and a chile relleno. He said the chili relleno was good but the cheese enchilada had way too much cheese. One could say you could never have too much cheese and others can disagree & say less is better in some things. I'm a cheese lover and even I say that there was too much cheese. But he said it had flavor. We had to ask for more drinks. They didn't try to upsell dessert. My cousin had a blended strawberry margarita ( it was happy hour) she said it was very good and tasted great. Overall it was a good experience, the overhead music was a nice touch & the decor was nice. In the restroom it was cute to see the artwork on the ceiling. With a little more effort on the staff to not take their time when it's not a busy hour I'd give a better rating. Maybe it was an off day with the food and the seasoning but with a little bit more seasoning the food would also get a better rating. I'll be back in the area in a few weeks again to visit the mission, we may give them...
Read moreShame on management! I stopped by and asked at the host(ess) stand if dogs were welcome on the patio. They said yes. I enjoyed a nice happy hour (food & drink). Thr second time I went there, the manager kept staring at me from across the patio. I asked the waitress what he was looking at. She said "the dog". He never came to the table. The next time I was there, he came to my table and asked me if my dog was a service dog, and if I could produce papers to prove it if I needed to (which some people told me he is not allowed to ask me). I told him I HAD asked and was told dogs (with no mention of service dogs) were ok on the patio. He offered no explanation
My dog is large so I am guessing they don't want large dogs. I really don't mind if a restaurant has a no dog policy, that is why I ask. I even ask nearby customers if they are ok with the dog there at restaurants that allow dogs. Some people don't want to dine around a dog and I respect their wish. In this case, I was simply lied to and not offered any apology. I cancelled my food order, paid for my drink and left. I will not visit again. I do not solicit businesses that do not offer common courtesy or even an apology. This is...
Read moreWent here to have a girl's day with my family, our server was very busy she was working mainly by herself even though there were people in pretty much every table. The servers shift was ending so she had asked if we could close out so we closed out our bill, even though we still wanted to order drinks and hang out longer. Once we closed out no one working seem to ask if we were okay or if we needed anything, it was very disappointing because when the girl was working alone she was more attentive. But once she left there were multiple servers and multiple people working and none of them cared to help us because we were already closed out. Little did they know we did want to order more things and they did not care. Also I wanted to to let them know that our bill was overcharged on drinks. I felt like they were ignoring us because they knew they overcharged us and they didn't want to refund our money back. We spent a lot of money and I don't understand how the people working didn't care, felt like they didn't want us there. I work for the restaurant industry as well and I never do this stuff to people half the time I'm working completely alone and I still attend...
