Shakey's Pizza was founded in Sacramento, California, on April 30, 1954, by Sherwood "Shakey" Johnson and Ed Plummer. Johnson's nickname resulted from nerve damage following a bout of malaria suffered during World War II. The parlor opened on a weekend, but since the pizza ovens were not yet completed only beer was served. Shakey took the profits from beer sales and bought ingredients for pizza the following Monday. There are 5 locations in the Valley: Sylmar, Glendale, Valley Village, Burbank and Northridge. Shakey’s was the first pizza franchise chain. 🍕

This is by far the dirtiest and ghetto Shakey's pizza parlor I have ever been to. First of all when you order your pizza and then they give you a number, when your order is up... this is the speaker they yell from that your order is ready. I understand that the staff has nothing to do and it is probably the owner's fault but that doesn't look good to have a giant amplifier with a microphone connected right next to the cash register. I went to the salad bar and everything was so dirty I personally got grossed out. Customers here really don't respect this restaurant how it should be. Several customers that day brought there own 40 ounce beer from the liquor store.

Terrible dining experience they have like 3 tables connected like if it was Thanksgiving in here. With covid and monkey pox around why would you have your seating so close together. The worst part is they don't have ac . What is wrong with this place I rather go to McDonald's atleast they have air condition so you can eat comfortably. I never come here this is the first time and I'm left with a bad experience. I should of stayed home than to come here to this fire pit of hell called shakeys. The ac is filthy. The lady's at the register have an attitude. They rush you to order and they, let you order and pay , To find out they ran out of Michelada mix .

This is one of the worst Shakey's Pizza Parlors EVER!!! Service is horrible. Every time I try making a pick up order over the phone they put you on hold for so long you end up hanging up and having to call back just to have it happen 3-4 times. My most recent encounter with this place was on Saturday 4/9/2016. After calling 3 times I finally got someone to take my order and literally took my order told me I would be ready in 40 minutes and hung up on me which is fine because I knew they were busy. So I went in ready to pick up my order and the cashier tells me they have no order under my name. I asked to speak to the manager and the cashier claimed to be the manger which is very unacceptable because he pretty much told me there was nothing he can do even though I told him I could show him my phone and have him see I called in an order and he just says "Well sorry that is not going to change anything!" So then he asked who took my order like I am supposed to know. All I said was it was a women. Then having to wait for 10+ minutes he says that they had it under a different name. Being upset I told him I did not care and that I just wanted the food I ordered so I can go! So had to wait another 15 minutes for them to put my order together. When I got home the chicken and mojos were piping hot and my pizza was ice cold because it had been sitting there. Not worth the $$$ I paid. YOU GUYS NEED NEW MANAGEMENT OR MORE STAFF! VERY...

Briana was rude and has very poor customer service skills. I reserved a time slot for a get together of 45 peeps in which I walked in the night before to preorder and fully pay for food and drinks. I knew I would be busy and wouldn’t want to worry about paying and waiting same day. Briana was present when I paid for my order night before. Of course that day if the get together I couldn’t find my receipt for the food I purchased and Briana refused to provide me with the drinks and salads because I needed to show my receipt but the hot food was Out and 30 minutes late. I asked her to please reconsider as my food was out and was there just last night next to registrar when I paid. So I went home to get my receipt. I gave to back to get my deposit money because she didn’t have the courtesy to give it to me Then and there. To make my service worse I asked for 2 pizzA boxes to take the left over Pizza and she refused. She said I had to use those white Foam containers where the pizza gets bent and stacked on where the pieces stick. Never going back. However the other staff where nice and polite. Even the pizza guy was gonna give me the pizza boxes but Briana told him quickly that she’d already told me no. $&@“#% For sake of words. She makes a rude gesture when I asked for her name because she was Not...

As always the pizza was fantastic. The staff seemed hurried and unhappy. A very large birthday event was going on in the private party area and the staff was torn between servicing that group and the diners in the front of the house. I tried to place my takeout order over the phone and gave up after 10 minutes on hold and walked in to start my order. The manager was gracious but very stressed and clearly needed more hands but didn’t have them. This is one of the few Shakeys left and it continues to uphold their standard of product and quality in the best possible way. Shakeys needs to recognize this and allow this manager more staff to maintain shakeys tradition of the best pizza ever. We are third generation Shakeys fans and want to see them continue that tradition for many more years. 70 years is a great milestone for this business and should be supposed by its parent company as such. Thank you Sylmar staff & manager for giving us a super Shakeys experience...
