Love coming here when I am in the area. closest to tacos sold in San Luis Río Colorado ,Mexico if not the same. Love that someone took the idea and brought it closer to home and the home made flour tortillas are just UNBEATABLE. This place is great! One thing I do have to say is work on that one cashier I had an unpleasant experience with from as soon as I walked in the door and placed my order she was like whatever’s about how she talked to me(and I know I can’t judge the place based on this one time experience) she wasn’t rude yet, but as if she didn’t want to take my order. At time of serving the food, usually they call out your name and hand you your food. Well this cashier/ employee was calling someone else’s name and placed the plate(my order) four chairs down on the counter. So I’m like ok maybe it’s for someone else. So after I didn’t see anyone sit there I went looking for her to ask if that was for me and said “yeah that’s your plate) didn’t make a complaint or anything but i believe that was rude and she didn’t even say “here you go” at least. If I didn’t ask I would not have known that was my order. Please make adjustments to help better customer service. Like I said I love this place. The food is great by the way you...
Read moreI’ve been hearing and seeing Sonoratown on tv and kept telling myself I need to go I need to go! I actually stumbled upon this location by accident while driving around and running errands. When I passed it, I was like wait a minute, it can't be. As I was driving home I passed by it again and realized it was what I thought it was. This is their second location, hence Sonoratown 2. It's not the OG one which is located in DTLA. Nonetheless, I had to try it out.
I got carne asada burritos for my family. The restaurant is small, so not a whole lot of seating options available, we decided to take it to go. The young lady at the counter was super nice and friendly. We did wait awhile for our food, as did the other people that were there. Since the restaurant is small, it was getting a bit cramped with people waiting for their food. They definitely need to create a better system because I'm sure when more people find out about this location, it's going to get busy busy.
My burrito was good. But I honestly expected a more “boom” in my mouth. Maybe since I ate it at home? Maybe if I ate it right away? I'm not sure, but my family loved it! Not sure if I would return to this location, but I'm definitely down to try the...
Read moreSonoratown in Mid-City Los Angeles is hands down one of the best taco spots around. You can smell the mouth-watering charcoal-grilled meats from blocks away, teasing your taste buds long before you arrive. Their house-made flour tortillas, crafted with lard are pure perfection—fluffy, warm, and irresistible. You'll definitely want to take a stack home for later.
I tried the steak tacos, and they were life-changing. The tender, smoky beef paired with their incredible salsa and guacamole made every bite unforgettable. The chivis? You have to experience them to fully understand the magic. And the bean and cheese burrito, made with frijoles de olla, is absolute perfection.
Whether you’re craving tacos, burritos, or just want to experience exceptional Mexican food, Sonoratown is a must. With two locations (DTLA and Mid-City), you have no excuse not to go. Do yourself a favor and check it out—you...
