This seems to be one of those ignored and not seen peciecs of history and art. These are actual segments of the famous Berlin Wall that have original art and new art added to them.

Representing the division of East and West at the time, those who know the history of the wall can only imagine how it once decided a nation.

The area does need better signs or markers as we would have missed this if not for a park docent who was by the lamp...

A gem hidden in plain sight. Everyone flocks to the streetlamp display for photos and most folks don't seem to realize that right across the street unassumingly sits a piece of pretty significant history (with cool artwork to boot). Seriously, I NEVER see anyone over here and it floors me. If you're visiting the Academy Museum, or the Tar Pits, or the Petersen, or LACMA, do yourself a favor and pop over to...

Such a hidden gem! With millions of people visiting LACMA every year and even more people taking photos with Urban Light right across the street, this large Berlin Wall segment seems left largely unnoticed. Well known historical artifacts in an unlikely location - across the street from MoCA on Wilshire. Largest collection of Berlin Wall segments outside of Berlin. Just like the latter, there is political art - on both sides. Free to visit, outside just off the sidewalk on the south side of Wilshire.

Very wierd to look at something that was a part of a symbol of such great oppression. The paintings on it are beyond weird though. You can probably guess which side was facing the road without even looking at the background.
