Tacos Gavilan — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I swear i have a love hate relationship with this place .the food is DELICIOUS. No doubt HOWEVER sometime after it's remodel ,Puras Fallas.i went in for the first time after the remodel not long ago after moving back to this area with my family and we ordered drive theough.i ordered and I heard her repeat my order and confirmed.i ordered a burrito De carne asada, a burrito De al pastor and 3 tacos De asada.when I got home everything was carne asada.i was pissed.i eat carne asada often,my boyfriend loves it.the only time I get to eat anything so pastor is when we eat out.👎they killed my only opportunity that week.

2nd time I decided to try again I went drive through ,no family just me while I was running an errand.ordered a burrito De al pastor.they got the order right that time but there was a HUGE piece of onion in my borrito😑but at least I finally got my al pastor

3rd time I went last Sunday after work.ordered a burrito De asada.a burrito De al pastor and 3 tacos De al pastor for my toddler and little girl.got home, no manches ,they gave us 2 burritos De asada and 3 tacos De al pastor.

The first 2 times I spoke Spanish to order because she begun speaking in Spanish as I pulled up to the drive through.ny grandparents and in laws don't speak english.so I know I speak pretty good spanish.im first generation u.s born. So I know I did not mess up the order.

The last time I spoke in English because she spoke English first after pulling up to the drive through.clear as day I heard my order right and they still got it wrong.so it's not the language.

I've been a customer with them since they started in a lunch truck, then they got the front part of two structures property to the renovation. I used recommend it to everyone and even though the food it's still pretty decent, it's fallen from what made them great, affordability and portion. The went all corporate super pricey, I'll recommend it now to people that can afford it, and the size of the tacos, and the tortas dramatically reduced. Pretentious food. Later not so far from now they're gonna give you your tacos with a little piece of Basil a scoop of salad dressing and call it a delicatessen. Money sure changes people. First time here today. (Apr. 4, 2019) Dined in around 6pm. At this time it wasn't busy at all (at least the inside wasn't). So far, I can give big kuddos on cleanliness. Staff wasn't so friendly or talkative. Seemed like they were more interested into each other's conversations between and during taking orders. However, one of the prep guys was courteous to let us try a few type of meats. Which some were just OK. Besides the tacos de cabeza. According to my Mom they were by far the best and about perfect we'll cooked. (: The guacamole, green salsa, the grilled salted jalapeños were delicious! Loved the side bar! The spaciousness! Which reminded me, of when and how busy it could be during rush hours. For a first time... I'd definitely bring myself and family back....
