So today I went to the grocery store to get me some things to make dinner. I go inside, and grabbed my items, get to the register and itās a long line. As I stand in one of the lines, I noticed some of the workers at another register (it looked like they were getting it ready to open up). So I asked the representative Kevin, if that register was going to open. He asked the representative David (who was at the register) if he was opening up and David looked up at me and looked at Kevin and said no. So Kevin told me no. No problem. So I stay in my line (which was moving pretty swiftly) and as I approach the representative at the register in my line, I look over and notice David approach a couple (that looks much different then myself) and ask them if they would like to check out at his register. At first, I was a little confused but then I thought, hey, this couple is a little on the elderly side (may have a few items to buy; I couldnāt see their basket). No worries. But then I look up and notice this couple had a lot of groceries. Definitely more than the two ground beefās, three jars of spaghetti sauce, two pack of noodles and a bottle of juice I was purchasing. Definitely made me feel some type of way because literally seconds had passed since the āNoā I received when I asked to the gesture the other shoppers (who again did not look like me) received when they didnāt even inquire whether or not the register was open. Dont want to jump to conclusions or make accusations, but I could not help but feel overlooked and for me, I couldnāt help but feel it had ties to my race. I asked and got a no. They didnāt ask and was OFFERED to check out at the register. I had a few times to buy. They had a LOT MORE than I did to buy. I am Black. They were Latino and living in a predominantly Latino community, sometimes one can feel overlooked or ignored but in that moment in the store, it didnāt feel like a feeling. It felt more like a reality and I didnāt enjoy my experience at all. I spoke with Kevin and thanked him for his help and spoke to Samuel who said he would look into the matter more closely and despite their professionalism and assistance and acknowledgement that yes, something was definitely different from the response I received to the gesture the other couple received, I can not help but feel that nothing would be done. However, Iām hopeful and just wanted to bring some awareness to my experience at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a horrible experience over the price of a bundt cake that the cashier turned upside down to prove the price was not as I thought it was for all signs said $5.99 which I thought was perfect for I found some breyers ice cream red tagged for $4.49 I was so excited for I had $11.00 on my food stamp card so it would have been covered. So when it totaled $13+ I questioned the price. The cashier went to verify which she also thought that was the price for she took a picture to show her supervisor who was at his own register with A-line so now I have to wait for him to tell me how I was wrong that the price for the cake was $8.49. Yes but you have it on a table with a sign that says $5.99 so he tells me we're going to give it to you at that price but I need to pay attention to where I pick things up from. (Jesus take the wheel) I replied no you're not going to give me anyting because I don't want a cake that's been turned upside down and some ice cream that's probably have melted I walked out steaming with anger š”š¤¬ for I really wanted some cake and ice cream. So I turned around went back into the store but through the bakery to my surprise the young man in the bakery department customer service was so on point it totally change my mood. I settled for a slice of three milks chocolate cake big enough for 2 for $3.49 service with a smile š and I saved $7.66 I'll just have to buy my ice cream elsewhere. But I Thank Arcenio C. Your customer service skills are greatly appreciated . Seems to me you like your job. I like people like you doing there job. Stay kind and judge free and Thanks for being you . Keep up the good work it's noticed. Just moved to this area. Hoping to build better relationships within my community. The devil has no victory over me . And a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was accused of stealing by Joana and cashier's yet when confronted outside in front of the store I had nothing from their store. I had stolen nothing. I even told them I'm not even going to get upset because I know I didn't do anything but I told him you are going to give me the number to the corporate office and you're going to tell me who told you I was stealing because I know that that's my right I also know from having a guard card that you're not supposed to confront anyone about stealing unless you are certain and certain is the word that they have stole something otherwise you have now put yourself in a predicament where you can be sued. If you are African-American shopping at this market it will be presumed that you are stealing I even told them as I left just because I'm African-American doesn't mean I'm stealing from your store. This is a photo of paper I received from the manager with the information...
