This is my first experience with Taj India Palace. Indian food near my area is usually a hit and miss and the reviews for this particular location was also hit and miss. So, having a craving for Indian food for lunch and sun for dinner, I gave this location a try. I'm glad I did. The food was delivered on time and it was still hot and fresh. I got a lunch combo plate which included chicken vindaloo, Dal, vegetable of the day, rice, and naan. I was very impressed with this particular combo. The food was fresh, flavorful and tasted homemade. There was some love going into this food. The chicken vindaloo could use a little bit more Indian flair but it was spot on and delicious. The naan was soft, chewy and just the right amount of toasted. Very impressed with this combo and it was fulfilling.
Now I did venture out of my comfort zone and tried their lamb keema samosa. This was somewhat of a disappointment as it was really just dough with ground lamb meat. There was not much flavor, the dough was really thick and overall this was not something that I will be ordering again.
The Raita which was a yogurt sauce was amazing. Very light, refreshing and cleanses the palate after you have such a flavorful chicken vindaloo combo. Goes great with naan bread.
Lastly, the salad that came with the meal, was drenched in Italian dressing. So the salad was pretty much ruin with the saturated Italian dressing.
Overall, I'm giving this place a solid five stars. Great location, timely delivery, the prices were on point and the food especially the combo was delicious. As the Terminator would say,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been living in Playa Vista for over a decade and this was the first time we came here. I wish I could come much earlier and this is a legit place with delicious Indian cuisine with excellent service!
We came around 5:30p on a Saturday so the restaurant was entirely empty (when we left at 6:45 it was packed). We were greeted by friendly staff who made some good recommendations on the appetizers and the combo dishes. We decided to go with the appetizer assortment that came with different samosas (one with veggie one with lamb), chicken and some other fried veggie. Thru are all delicious and opened up our appetite for the entree.
We ordered three different combos (one chef special with tandoori chicken and curry lamb, one with chicken Korma, and chicken curry. Honestly I love them all but the chicken Korma definitely stands out given its rich and creamy texture!
The sides that come with combo are also flavorful: A side of salad, veggie stew, and bean curry. We also ordered a separate side of naans and I highly recommend giving it a try! So fluffy, with a bit charcoal burn at the bottom and perfect for scooping the curry!
We decided to pass the dessert in the end. To our surprise the staff brought rice pudding to us for FREE! Such a nice touch. We will defiantly...

We came to this restaurant late night seeing the reviews were good and thought of eating at this restaurant. We are South Indians from hyderabad India. So we ordered chicken biryani, mutton (lamb) biryani, vegetable biryani and vegetarian thali. These are overly priced and by seeing the ratings we thought the food is going to be excellent or at least good.
We were shocked after opening our food. Biryani has full of raisins and it is not even dum biryani. It is some mixed vegetables added with rice and it is under cooked and the taste was awful. We just had a bite of our food and it is so worse. we had to throw all of it in the trash slept in hungry because it is late night and we were so tired to order food again.
Please be aware that this is not the restaurant to go and buy biryani because it is nothing but half cooked vegetables and half cooked meat.
Please don't buy biryani at this place because they are actually not cooking the way the South Indians make. It has full of raisins and they call it biryani.
Please don't go this please if you want to try Authentic South Indian biryani.
Got to this restaurant at...
