Tea at Shiloh is an extraordinary tea house. But it is much, much more than a place to have tea. It's an absolutely enchanting, relaxing, nurturing space that can help you connect with yourself or others (should you choose the latter). I went alone and felt very comfortable. I both kept to myself and also made new friends. Some people were alone, too, though many came with friends/partners. Introvert or extrovert, feel like talking or wanna be quiet, you'll feel welcome there! There are two options: a day pass and a late night experience. I did both. The day pass lets you hang in the space all day (from 10 am till 3 pm). I did admin work on my laptop, used some art supplies (provided) for a project I'm working on, worked on a creative writing project, browsed through books on their shelf (great selection), and did some divination readings (there are multiple decks). Three kinds of very high quality, delicious tea were available (2 caffeinated and 1 herbal), and there was an unlimited supply, served by a wonderful host. The late night experience also has unlimited tea (2 herbal and 1 caffeinated this time, also served by lovely hosts), but the vibe is more textured with life music, dim (reddish) lights, and a social vibe. This vibe lends itself to spontaneous conversation, but also just the comfort of community if you don't feel like chatting. To be transparent, I'm writing a book about tea houses across the entire United States, and I actually few to LA (from my home in DC) just to try out this tea house, because they're doing something extraordinary and completely unique--giving people a night-time experience that feels safe and soulful, but also enlivening and really fun. Tea at Shiloh exceeded all my expectations. If you go, too, be prepared for something you've probably not seen before. In other words, this isn't like other cafes, lounges (or even tea houses) you may have tried. It's not a place to grab a quick Matcha or have a few cocktails. There is much more enchantment here. More possibility. It's an absolutely gorgeous space that can lift you higher without substances. It's a place that can actually help you transform. It's that powerful. Seriously. I cannot recommend this tea house more strongly. Check it out...
Read moreTea at Shiloh is one of those rare L.A. spaces that doesn’t just serve tea—it offers a full sensory experience. Tucked into the Arts District, this intimate, shoes-off sanctuary feels like the kind of place you stumble upon in a dream: dimly lit by lanterns, filled with mismatched couches, low tables, floor pillows, and the warm hum of conversation or live music.
You’re greeted not with a menu but a question—what’s your intention for being here? Whether it’s reflection, connection, or creativity, they’ve set the stage for it. The tea is unlimited and intentionally blended with fresh herbs and botanicals like chrysanthemum and butterfly pea flower. You can order by the pot or glass, but most people go for the full experience (around $37) which includes snacks, art materials, and all the time you need to linger and let the day fall away.
The space itself is small and cozy—part lounge, part living room, part temple. There’s often live music: think jazz, ambient piano, or something experimental but never intrusive. And unlike many L.A. hangouts, this one discourages phones and laptops, especially at night. It’s meant to be a pause, a pocket of analog peace.
It’s hard to describe Tea at Shiloh without sounding a little poetic—because it’s that kind of place. A space for stillness, for play, for a different kind of socializing. Come with an open mind, and you just might leave with a little more than you...
Read morePaid $46 per ticket for this tea place and honestly was really disappointed. For some reason I thought the place would be a lot bigger but its quite small. They brewed 3 different types of teas, what was interesting was that I thought within that $46 you would at least get some cookies but they only gave us a tiny and I mean TINY fruit plate for 3 people. Each person can eat one slice of peach, one piece of raspberry and maybe two pieces of an orange. I asked if we can have other type of teas, I got a really weird response from the person that was working there like she was hesitant to brew any other type of teas. When they introduced the teas to us, they didn't say you can request different type of teas and that it was included in the price. I did however enjoy the music and it was chill. Interesting experience but we probably won't be back as I can create the same experience in my...
