Despite serving superfoods, it didn't mean that taste couldn't be enjoyable; yes that's exactly what I found at The Hive. Providing comfy space at the hook of National Boulevard, this place was certainly a hidden gem for me as I could get spoiled by the cozy cafe-alike ambience yet delighting myself with scrumptious healthy food options.
The menu was pretty rich, serving both warm and cold bowls, both sweet and savory options. Our first one was the Tuna Protein Crunch, serving generous portions of Tuna as the main protein but complemented by tons of other elements like including avocado, shaved parmesan, edamame, caper, watermelon radish, chia seeds, hemp seeds, lemon herb farro, and greens. IKR, so royal and flavorful with a lot of different textures altogether got you delighted. I earlier was a bit skeptical about how it will turned out but now the dish successfully got me converted. The highlight was surely their crunchy chickpeas!
For the sweet cold bowl option, I ended up going for BYO bowl, standing under pressure to make my order decision fast, with pretty long line behind me. I went for acai base with blueberries and strawberries for my fruit toppings, accompanied by granola and cacao nibs. Not to forget, extra almond butter. The serving size was so filling and I still had toppings to enjoy even at my last spoon. I wished I have more of the almond butter, but everything was just right in this bowl. The acai base was refreshing and coming at precise texture as my liking. All the fruits as seen from the pic were so fresh as well. Next time I would doubtlessly go for their house-crafted combo.
Overall really enjoy my premiere visit to...
Read moreI am super excited that The Hive has opened up a new location in West LA/MarVista area!
They took over the old Starbucks location which is perfect with a nice outdoor seating area in addition to one generous indoor seating area.
The menu features, healthy, light fare. But they also have some nice sweets at the counter in addition to a large assortment of protein bars, snacks that are convenient if you are on the run or need something for later.
What I love about the Hive is that it is a great place to get something easy, fast, that is also healthy so you that your intense Pilates workouts aren't for nothing.
Actually, the Hive is a great place to go grab a cold brew , matcha or chaga in the morning, have breakfast on the weekends (all day) or get avocado toast or wrap delivered for lunch at work. In the evenings, after a workout or ending your nightly walk with your dog by stopping by and sitting on the patio enjoying anything on their menu!
They share a dedicated parking lot with Chipotle & Yama Sushi.

Their food presentation is superb judging by the styling and overall hospitality of their brand.
I had their avocado toast which came garnished with watermelon radish slices and was as beautiful as it was delicious.
They’ve got card and board games of all kinds, books, and healthy snacks.
Health wise, you can’t go wrong at The Hive.
The only very minor downside is perhaps there may be a parking space issue depending on time of day.
I might try taking a walk or use public transportation if time allows.
Overall 5 bees 🐝
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟… they deserve a much longer write up but I’ll update … because I’ll definitely go back.
Chipotle and the tiny Asian market next door are an added bonus to this intersection.
The stores across the street don’t seem to be open many hours or not yet open.
There’s always Whole Foods for any last minute groceries.
