tl;dr Asada is amazing, pastor is good, cabeza is greasy. The only real issue is the consistency in time and serving.
Update: 7/21/2023 After trying for so long we finally caught them at a good time and ordered some food. I got the same thing I always get and what I recommend, the all meat asada burrito with all cheese. Instead, they gave me carnitas, which is not nearly as good, and I didn't find out till I got all the way home. My prior review stands, consistency is their greatest weakness. I'm looking for a new taco/burrito place and reducing my 4 star review to 3.
End update
Its a great taco stand with great service and a good value. The asada burrito is 100% my favorite and goes great with their salsa. The pastor is sometimes dry but has good flavor and great with the pineapple. The cabeza... only get that for tacos. Got a burrito with it turned into a soggy mess. It's good but really really greasy. Their service is great, an assembly line of food and sides, and their salsa is good and hot. They let us buy just meat once which was awesome as we got to share that with family out of town. And their service is a big reason I would highly recommend them.
My biggest issue is their consistency. Sometimes the burritos are full, sometimes they are not. Also, they open late every now and then. Today, my wife and I went there expecting them to be open at 6 PM which is what it says on Google and their website. We get there 15 minutes or so early to avoid the line and because we dont eat late and its a bit of a drive for us. We got there around 5:40 PM, were told it wasn't ready yet and responded with a "no worries, we know." Because they open at 6 PM, right? Well after waiting 10 minutes they told someone else in Spanish that it wouldn't be ready for 30 minutes. This is a bit annoying as we were waiting already, and first in line, and it's not the first time. Though, this was the latest so far.
In closing, good food, great service at a good value but a little too often things dont line up and you dont get what you pay for or they run late. I would still 100% recommend them. Get the...
Read moreThis is a new place for me! So far tacos al pastor are my favorite! The line is long but they work very fast. I take the order home because I do not like to eat on the street and the tacos are still very hot when I get home. They are very generous to let you take any salsa and fixings for your tacos. If you go late like 9:30 or 10pm you may not get guacamole salsa, red salsa and radishes etc. Also be prepared not to be upset if while you are waiting in the line for 20 minutes and suddenly you see that the couple in front of you is greeting his friends and family and they start getting added to the line in front of you little by little as they arrived and now they are a total of 14 people for just that couple that was in front of you! That happened to me and when it got my turn almost 45 minutes later they were few toppings left. The tacos were still delicious though! and I enjoyed them at home! It would be nice if we use common sense and we do not think it is ok to add 12 people to the line when everyone else is already waiting. I always give tip because all the people working there are working very hard and their prices are...
Read moreThis is easily one of the best street tacos on the Westside of LA! 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend the suadero, al pastor, chorizo, and asada. I think their suadero and al pastor are particularly noteworthy.
I'd suggest skipping the chicken (that's their weakest meat option). The cabeza and lengua were OK, but not as incredible as the first 4 meats that I already mentioned earlier.
The prices are affordable, starting at just $1.75 per taco. The service is friendly and helpful. The line might look intimidating and long, but don't get discouraged! The food is well worth the wait and the line moves fairly quickly.
It's located in the corner of a parking lot belonging to a grocery store/pharmacy. Most people just tailgate behind their car and eat off the trunk. Some people brought foldable chairs and sit next to their parked car and eat. Plenty of space for either option.
Only negative with this place is that you have to form a line alongside a busy, multi-lane road with cars driving fast. The taqueros try to make up for it by playing Mexican music on their speakers, so that people in line can enjoy a more...
