I don’t normally write restaurant reviews, but our experience at Toast Cafe was so amazing, they really deserve it.
Both the food and the service are exquisite. The bread baskets they give while you’re waiting are toasted and seasoned ciabatta which could not be better. But make sure not to fill up and them no matter how tempting they are. The breakfast items we ordered (French toast and omelettes) were great. The omelette sandwich my wife ordered was a delicacy. The pizza is better than just about any pizza place you could go to. Drinks were great as well, namely we tried cappuccino and ice cocoa, both thoughtfully presented and delicious.
The service is incredible as well. They could not have been more accommodating to our family with a few small children. The second time we came, they began preparing our table in advance when they saw us outside before we even walked in. They gave them stickers. They even offered to split the French toast into 4 portions in the kitchen to make it easier for us.
Special shout out to our server Karen who could not have been nicer and more welcoming.
In short - Best kosher dairy restaurant in the Valley or likely in all of LA. Will be definitely back next time...
Read moreThe TOAST CAFE is a compact, Mediterranean style, kosher, restaurant that serves vegan, Gluten-Free, and conventional meals. The eatery has a few tables inside and many more on the protected patio.
The staff is knowledgeable and anxious to please.
The Middle Eastern style entrees, are fresh, mildly spiced, and quite large. Their coffee is strong.
I ordered the vegan Shawarma Wrap, which includes Impossible ground beef, onions, cabbage, red peppers, hummus and tahini. Accompanying the wrap is a cup of Israeli salad containing tomatoes, Persian cucumbers, onions, parsley, olive oil, and lemon juice. The generous serving was mild and delicious.
This was the first time two of our guests had eaten kosher Israeli food. They loved it and took the leftovers home.
One of our party had a birthday. At the spur of the moment, the server was able to provide a slice of kitchen decorated cheese cake and a candle.
STUFF: Toast Cafe has been open since 2012. A restroom is located outside, and is entered at the rear of the building. Everything is ADA compatible. The free parking lot is difficult to access especially in...
Read moreWe were there on a Sunday morning. It gets pretty packed early. I like the staff, the place, the vibe, the patrons, but the food is mediocre at best. The prices are about average for a restaurant, meaning, if you're looking for a deal, this isn't the place to go. It's not expensive but not inexpensive either. The pizza wasn't great, the bagel Pizza wasn't really a bagel pizza or at least not what I expected, but the hummus plate was great, except that it only had one small pita cut into quarters. 4 small quarters of pita is not going to cut it. There should have been at least two pitas more one larger pita not cut up into quarters. Oh and the sweet potato fries seemed Frozen. It was great though that the food came out very quickly, however it makes me wonder. Oh and you have to go outside to the back of the restaurant to use the bathroom. We parked in the parking lot behind the restaurant, but apparently we had to move the car once the valet people showed up because it was valet parking only. There's not much free parking...
