Every so often I'll get the question, "what's your favorite "go-to-bar" and I am always ready with the answer: Verdugo Bar. I have been coming to this spot for the past 6-7 years and although some of the furnishings inside may have changed, the attitude and the energy is still very much the same.
Everything from their weekly happenings (Thursday Night Tacos, Tuesday Trivia Nights, MLB season games, etc.) to their awesome bartending, you will find yourself feeling comfortably at home. The beer that they have available boasts a great variety, many of which are breweries that are located within the LA county so you will always find your drink here.
Location wise, the Verdugo Bar is not too far from the 2 Freeway which makes it super accessible although be warned that parking is something that may be a problem. Worst case scenario: drop off your friend to get yourselves a table while you go looking for a parking spot.

Be careful when you step outside, there's a weird little step thing near the doorway. The outdoor seating is filled w/picnic benches, twinkle lights, and beer paraphernalia on the wall which give it a cool backyard feel.
They have game nights, which I have yet to attend, but is definitely on my radar. The bathroom is tiny and always busy.
I've been here a few times and have had fun every time. There's usually a food truck near by, which is cool if you're hungry after you eat. Street...
