Baja Fresh — Restaurant in Los Gatos

I’m reviewing an experience by my 80 year old mother in law. She’s been a loyal customer here for many years. She’s had them caterer food for parties and lives just around the block so was a frequent customer. A few weeks ago she entered the store at lunch time, only customer in the place at the particular time. She had been out shopping so wanted to use the restroom and wash her hands. The lady behind the counter followed her to the bathroom and accosted her. She told her that the bathroom was only for customers. My MiL explained she was a customer and would be right up to order. The lady kept pressuring her to leave. My MiL continued into the restroom and came right out as promised and made her way out to the counter. This rude employee, told her to get out. She wouldn’t serve her. She tried to question why and the lady just kept railing at her. So she left hungry and embarrassed that she got kicked out of her favorite neighborhood eatery. I came here when my foot was broken and I was getting around on a knee scooter. Olivia, I think she may be the manager, was super helpful. She brought me my food, she filled my drink for me, and offered to fill up some salsa as well. It was crazy to see how many other people, in other places, did not blink twice when they saw someone with a broken foot. Just kept walking... wouldn't hold a door, would offer to assist in any way. Nothing. So, when Olivia was being helpful it made me feel overwhelmed with appreciation. I actually felt like she was doing it to be kind and because she is a good person. I dine here and carry out for my staff on a regular basis. This location should be the poster child for a well run, clean, exemplary staffed, franchise location. Olivia and her team always greet me (and many others) by name, with a smile. The portions are generous and each dish is prepared with attention to detail.
