My recent visit to this cafe marked my second attempt to give it a chance, hoping for a better experience than the first. Unfortunately, the outcome left much to be desired. I ordered the chicken avocado sandwich and the soup of the day. While my sandwich was satisfactory, the same cannot be said for the soup, which disappointed both in presentation and taste. However, my friend's experience was less than ideal. He ordered the cheeseburger club sandwich, but upon inspection, it was evident that the beef had been poorly cooked and emitted an unpleasant odor. It seemed like the meat had gone bad before it even made its way to the grill. We brought this issue to the attention of our server, expecting some form of resolution. Regrettably, her response was a simple apology, and nothing more. She didn't offer any alternatives, such as a complimentary dessert or the removal of the subpar sandwich from the bill. The lack of effort to address the problem left us disappointed and feeling undervalued as customers. Despite our attempt to give this place a second chance, it seems that our experience remains unsatisfactory. The lack of proactive measures to rectify the situation leaves us hesitant to return, as it appears our concerns were not genuinely acknowledged...
Read moreFantastic service! Attentive, genuine, helpful, and never intrusive. I ordered the turkey dinner. Serving size just right (I couldn't finish my plate but there wasn't so much leftover that I felt the need for a box). The seasonal veg on the side was so fresh and perfectly cooked and also perfectly seasoned. I could have made an entire meal out of that. Stuffing was awesome and definitely tasted homemade, solid mashed potatoes, good gravy although it tasted like an instant gravy mix instead of homemade. The turkey was moist, but sliced thin so I felt like I was being served sandwich-sliced deli meat (the kind made with a "solution"). A really good turkey dinner is hard to come by. This turkey dinner is probably one of the top 5 I've ever had. Will absolutely return and recommend this place. The menu is really good, so picking just one thing was hard. They have a canopy over the outdoor dining patio, so even though it was a hot day, it was appropriately shady and comfortable. Not as busy as I expected for a Saturday at noon, easy to find parking in the small lot and no waiting...
Read moreAfter over a decade of not visiting The Diner, we decided to go for breakfast and give it another try. They have provided outdoor dining on part of their parking lot. Not a pleasant surrounding (desperate need of some nice landscaping, just some low cost perennials would be nice). Under staffed, not a very pleasant waitress, almost to the point of sarcastic. after over twenty minutes we finally got warm coffee. asked for creamer four times and finally I went in and got a bowl of creamers off the counter. our breakfast came very cold, did not get the one of extra side dishes, she didn't remember if we asked for dry toast or not. My husband didn't touch his cold breakfast. Realizing that our restaurants and small businesses are barely getting back on their feet, however it makes one wonder, why aren't they more prepared for this gradual come back? The restaurant looked extremely dated, bathroom very dirty. We love the old fifties and sixties theme, however it does not look fresh and clean. Slow service, cold food,...
