This is not about their food. This is a warning about Applebee’s on line order app and the asm at the Houma Applebee’s. As I have not eaten at Applebee’s in over a decade. I desided I would revisit an old favorite of mine at Applebee’s. I just got to town and rather than sit inside and wait for a pickup order I chose to use their app to place the order and wait in my vehicle. The app seemed to be ok and allowed me to inter most of my information as a ‘guest.’. I didn’t see any Inquirey on the app for address information and proceeded to inter my card info. Once I did, and confirmed my order the app flashed up a notice my order was void because my address , I didn’t enter, was invalid. That’s fine. Most apps indicate when incorrect info is entered and allow you to correct. This one didn’t. Still not a big deal. However, what followed was my notice that my card was charged. Since I was very near I went inside to try to resolve it. I explained to the on duty asm what had happened. She emediatly inquired how the order was placed. I told her on line. I then tried to show her the order at which time the asm said there was nothing she could do and started to rattle off who to contact. I wasn’t interested in it, I was more puzzled why she didn’t make the slightest attempt to check her pos system to see if the order was in it. So don’t use this app unless you don’t mind the strong possibility of being charged for product you didn’t receive. Oh, you will get no support from the establishment as apparently they separate themselves from any responsibility to help resolve it. At least this ‘asm’ will. It will likely take weeks of buracricy to clear this charge off my card and I will hold this experience against Applebee’s and this asm in my thoughts for good. It’s been over ten years since I visited this place and it will turn out to be a whole lot longer before I revisit. Note to Applebee’s: I will accept NO apologies or appeasements. I don’t forgive complacency from a service. You need to take care of how you treat customers in such a small town. Update : altough I stand by my opinion about the website and the asm’s aforementioned poor response to my situation, Applebee’s contacted me with a more sincere attempt to help. All I can say is the crux is the asm’s poor response to my situation created my compulsion to correct it. Had she been even the least bit tactful and or trained how to handle similar situations, this would have gone much differently. Read moreThis was the worst restaurant I've ever been to. I ordered a 6oz sirloin steak medium rare, I got a black hockey puck (very well done ) that no way could even wieght 4oz. When the waitress handed it to me I said "this is a 6-oz steak," she said well the price of everything has gone up. Do you want me to have the cook make you a new one I didn't have time for that. So I said no. I should have walked out right then and there. I was just going to deal with it and take my loss. Then she brought the check, almost $8 for 2 Sierra Mist sodas. Ask to speak to the manager. And after all of that, did not give me a discount or offer anything to make it better! Basically just said sorry!! My husband got a burger. It was also over done. I paid $40 and some change for this terrible experience!! Also when we walked in we waited for our drinks for 20 minutes before they even took our order. Service was bad. I had drunk my soda and was waiting for my server to reappear so I could say that I needed a refill, but after several minutes she never showed. I actually googled the restaurants phone number and called. Once the phone started ringing then we saw someone appear on the floor. And she just seemed annoyed that I called for a drink refill
Our server was good, but she seemed distracted. She forgot part of my wife's order until my wife said something. She hardly checked on us.
It did seem that there should have been another server on duty. We saw her get triple-sat by the hostess.
Your hostess was terrible. I'm guessing she was the owner's daughter. She would walk by us and when we would acknowledge that we needed help she would just stare for a second or two then walk away.
