I so much wanted to like this place, that I went there twice. The 1st time was busy, so we left our number for a "table ready" but never received a "text". Kinda figured later once my daughter said, she wrote the number down and she seem to be working the door and floor. RED FLAG. But it was Mother's Day Saturday, had no idea that it is an intimate place (small). But the Food looked awesome and the reviews was mostly great. So, lets try again, 2nd trip, Sunday, Brunch, not crowded at all, but same young lady, working door and tables and bar. RED FLAG. But nevertheless, we staying focus on the food to come. WELL, So many red flags happened 😳 during the extremely long wait for: Chicken n waffles- the worst I EVER had; Well Done Breakfast Burger- w/running egg (our fault, should have said, we'll cooked egg too); Reg. Shrimp and Grits- received jerk shrimp, we guess)..To us, these three meals was simple..We came to experience the Caribbean cuisine, but didn't know it was ONLY a brunch menu, but no problem, let's go with that. IT WAS A PROBLEM. The service was too slow, for the amount of people that was there. We ordered appetizer, WIngs: simple right..nope. plain and Jerk.🤨 and a drink: bullfish drink, I think..these two things is the only reason for the two stars. And it took forever to come out. We watched couples leave before getting food. I saw a couple complain about their food. But remained, in all the red flags and noticed the owners sitting at the bar with backs to the people and not making any efforts to minimize the situation. I understand a small business but the workers are doing all they are allowed to do in the owners supervision...meaning if the Leaders are not leading, then as a customer, how can we support? Disappointed. Didn't bother to ask for a manager, although, our waitress said someone had spoke to us, but no one had...I believe she knew how dissatisfied we were but didn't even know how to voice it. She just had a blank look on her face and was glad we was leaving. So sorry, this is all over the place, but this was a week ago. The pics look great. Waffle, taste like pure sugar granules, almost like the Belgium waffles you buy in a pack. Disgusting. chicken had some weird taste- nothing like the wings. Shrimp and grits were ok. But WAS NOT what was ordered. The burger we returned cause the running egg...and some how...a new plate came out within 10mins...but it took darn near 2hours earlier...We know they just cleaned that plate...Anywho, I hope they get it right. Read moreI had the worst experience and I didn't even get to order food! We opted to sit at the bar and decided to order drinks. I ordered a Royal Peach Tea which was to have Crown Royal Peach and Ice tea and my sister ordered the Bullfish. When I received my drink the glass wasn't even half full so naturally I assumed it would be a strong drink because there wasn't much at all in the cup. Sadly I was wrong it tasted like watered down none sweet peach ice tea and nothing else. It tasted as if there was no alcohol in it at all. The Bullfish my sister ordered tasted like only pineapple juice with no alcohol. Therefore we advised the bartender that we didn't like the drinks they were what we expected. We never said anything about removing them from bill. The first thing that came out of his mouth was I can't take them off. Not I'm sorry or how can I fix it. We then asked if we could get something else of equal value or at least shots to put in them. He said no we couldn't exchange it but that we could buy shots of liquor. We were shocked to say the least because I've never been to a restaurant & ordered a drink that I absolutely hated & they didn't offer to fix it in some way. At this moment we request to speak with a manager who turns out had be standing right at the register the entire time yet didn't intervene or say anything. She slides over to us with her hands crossed, slouching on the bar & said in a very dry monotone voice that we can't take the drinks off, he made them according to the menu & you're more than welcome to buy shots. We decided to cash out spend a total of $30 on just drinks that tasted horrible & that we didn't even drink! We left them full on the bar paid the tab & left. My biggest issue is that there was absolutely no form of customer service at all. No attempts to rectify the situation or satisfy the customer at all. We were excited to come to the restaurant and try it. We planned on ordering drinks with an array of entrees as well as appetizers yet we were met with subpar servers with a complete lack of customer service. Below you will find a statement for my cousin who actually made the reservation and decided to patronize the business owner on one of the happiest days of her life! HER GRADUATION. I chose to share her words because they were perfectly said and I couldn’t agree more being a member of her party at this restaurant with very POOR customer service!!!!!
I’m so DISGUSTED by the customer service I received yesterday The Bullfish Bar+Kitchen Our waitress attitude was horrible!! She acted in a manner that showed that she did not want to service us & disappearing for long periods of time (it took us nearly an hour to get drinks). My reservation was for 7pm however my guest did not receive their food until after 10pm. Even then, the orders were messed up & the kitchen had run out of items that were previously ordered. When we brought the poor customer service to the owners attention she was very dismissive & did not try to provide any assistance. She did not try to deescalate the situation at all. The owner literally watched as her waitress struggled to serve our large party. There were 2 other groups of ppl at the restaurant that came in more than 30 mins after us but had gotten their drinks & food before us. We were still waiting for food when the other parties were preparing to leave the restaurant. The owner was very friendly to the other parties & apparently she knew the other groups of people. If you wanted to have a night to service your friends you should have not accepted any other reservations!! I try to patronize black businesses, but when I do the customer service is HORRIBLE.
