Dreadful barbecue. Every component of our meal was either messed up or just plain bad. We got 2 combos. Here were all the defects:
-they were out of fries, the most basic of sides, by 5pm -they forgot to give us one of our sides, called us 10 minutes after we left. I'm not adding 20 minutes to my commute for an order of slaw. -they forgot to give us pickles and onions even though we asked for them -pulled pork, brisket and ribs were AWFUL. This isn't barbecued meat. This is slow cooked in an oven and then passed off as cue. Dry, rubbery, flavorless, unattractive, stale meat with none of the smoke flavor or smoke rings indicative of true bbq. I wouldn't feed this meat to an animal. -green beans w bacon had no bacon and was drenched with salt -"baked potato casserole" was just a flavorless, smashed up piece of potato
Now some positives:
toast was good -sauce was surpirsingly decent -Coke Zero was delicious, truly a fine vintage
I was suspicious of this place after reading all of the bad reviews on Facebook but tried it anyway against my better judgement. Won't make that mistake again. I've eaten at dozens of barbecue places across the country and this is by far the worst. You are better off driving to the city to Blue Oak (whose prices are the same despite having bigger portions and actual real barbecue that is always delicious). Even with the promo code it wasn't even close...
Read moreI order the full rack ribs for $30.99, the Loaded fries for $12.99, the Giant Pit-Smoked Baker with beef brisket for $15.99, and the 1/2 brisket for $15.99. The ribs were a little bit too bland for me. They were out of brisket so I didn’t received 1/2 brisket but I am yet to receive a refund on it. The loaded fries were a big disappointment. It comes with Crispy, Hand Cut Fries with Brisket & Pork Chili topped with Shredded Cheese, & Green Onions now I understand they were out of brisket but I expected to receive the rest of the topping but instead I only got like 10 slices of fries with the smallest amount of cheese and was still charged $12.99 for it. Since they were the brisket the Giant Pit-Smoked Baker with beef brisket was substituted with the large Loaded Baked Potato Casserole. I’m fine with the substitution as long as it’s on the same price range but they are not the giant pit-smoked baker is $15.99 and the large potato casserole is only $5.99. Overall I had a terrible experience, I got extremely scammed and the food wasn’t even good. The presentation was bad and it tasted how it looked, bland. I don’t recommend this place at all unless you want to...
Read moreWent there for the first time today. We got the brisket sandwich and the 2 meat sandwich with pork and brisket (the name escapes me). The sides were Mac and cheese and onion rings. I was very happy with both sandwiches. The sides were decent, but I wouldn't have minded a couple more onion rings. The meat was a little cold, but I'd rather have that thatn dried-ouy heat lamp jerky. The sauce is good, and warms up the meat. No complaints about the meat, both the brisket and pork were flavorful and tender. They have some loaded potato and burger options in their menu, which we plan to try. The service was quick and friendly. For about the same price as a Taco Bell chalupa meal, you could come here and get a brisket sandwich, fries, and a drink. I suggest Dickey's put some "Now Open" signs, used car lot flags, or a Wacky waving inflatable arm-flailing tube man thingy to attract attention. Not long ago, Dunkin' Donuts in the Home Depot parking lot(!!!) and an IHOP for chrissakes, somehow managed to go out of business in Chalmette. I would hate to see Dickey's suffer the same fate. Good bbq at fast- food prices is a winning...
