Dimartino's — Restaurant in Louisiana

This place is apparently owned by the same people as the restaurant in Covington, but there are significant differences. That is not a problem.

Here, you order at the counter, and there is no table service other than even they bring you your order. The atmosphere is pleasant and the food was good and reasonably fast.

The menu has some Italian dishes and poboys as I recall, and of course, muffalettas. I had the Italian sausage poboy. The sausage was thinner like link sausage but longer and with good flavor. I prefer a stronger fennel flavor but that's my personal preference. Our group had onion rings which were crispy and flavorful, especially with their sauce. The rings were particularly thin cut off that's your preference.

I also had a side of gumbo which was very nice. Mine had a crab claw! Also their potato salad is more of a mustard type which is up my alley.

We went at lunchtime. The price was slightly higher than I expected until I realized that I didn't finish my food. The value was more than reasonable.

I don't find myself in this area often, but I'd go back. If you like this place, you must check out the Dimartino's...

The food at DiMartino's is excellent. The portions are very generous. The service is good and the people are friendly. It really is a neighborhood restaurant. It's always clean and neat and the owner is usually there keeping tabs on everything.

However to be honest the parking is limited. So some parking on the street is required. Don't be fooled by the look on the outside the inside is very nice. The muffaletta is very good but be sure you have a big appetite because they're all so large. The roast beef Po-Boys are to die for but they are a little sloppy because of the gravy. This place is great on price and the staff is very attentive to everyone's needs. The muffaletta are huge out of this world with plenty of toppings. The Gumbo is yummy with goodness. Wife had the Shrimp PoBoy that was stuffed full of Shrimp and dressed till it was overflowing. I also recommend the Roast beef PoBoy and gumbo combo the sandwich is so delicious and juicy. The dining area was clean and constantly maintained by a staff member also unlimited drink refills come with the meal. Restrooms were clean and well maintained.
