Dear Sir, you said that coconut was just a name and no restaurants served coconut shrimp with shredded coconut and it's the sauce that has the coconut in it.
That must be how it is in Louisiana (you said NO restaurants) perhaps it is that way here.
I left here and moved to Florida and lived there for 27years and that's my comparison. I've had alot of Chinese food over the years and coconut shrimp was one of my favorites, that's why I ordered it here. And yes it is rolled in shredded coconut and shredded pineapple. And the bowl of sauce does have shredded coconut in it, but it's the shrimp cooked that way that makes it so good.
It is seasoned also, so it's like a combination of spicy and sweet. (not hot)
Also I guess I am kinda surprised that the food wasn't seasoned here. Being Louisiana I suppose I expected it too
I guess it's all about Location, you know what they say ... Location Location Location!
(BTW ... I didn't get sauce with coconut in it, mine was just the regular sweet and sour sauce)
Terrible Food! Couldn't find coconut on Coconut Shrimp! Coconut shrimp supposed to be rolled in shredded coconut and shredded pineapple batter and fried. These small shrimp had a coating like a spring roll and no taste at all. Not even close to what coconut shrimp is supposed to be.
Egg drop soup was thin and had no chunks of egg like most.
The cream cheese crab wontons were the only thing that was good.
Would not recommend this restaurant if you want good...
Read moreFood is very tasty. owner is nice and friendly However, i would have given a better rating but my visit wasnt subperb. for one, there is hispanic employees that barely speak and understand english. so when we asked or needed anything had to keep getting translator or another person who could explain it better. ikr smh. and also i dont understand how you speak spanish but u work at a chinese restaraunt. i understand that some people speak a different language. No problem. the problem is how do u understand someone that is speaking broken english but u dont comprehend CLEAR English. the owner needs to hire someone that is bilingual. that would eliminate the confusion. Moving on Number 2, i felt that the price wasnt expensive but there shouldve been more options for food if u consider yourself a buffet. its small but it doesnt have enough of variety and also we had to keep asking for the staff to put fresh food out because u could tell that it had been sitting on the line too long and was getting dried out. i didnt have a great first impression experience with this restreraunt. mind you, it was my daughters birthday and she wanted to come here specifically, my overall opinion is: YES, I Would come back to this establishment BUT, I just order the Food as a...
Read moreI've been going to this restaurant for roughly 10 years. It is always clean. The food is very reasonably priced and there is a decent variety. The quality is excellent. The family who runs it are always very polite and they take pride in their facility. I've been coming here regularly once a week for almost 7 years now. I can't say enough good things. Highly recommend this Asian buffet if you are in the area. The hot and sour soup is fantastic as well as the chicken with peanut sauce. It's not a fancy asian restaurant and it was never meant to be. It's just a small place run by a family. I will continue to come here.
Update... I moved to New Orleans two months ago and still make it a point to come back here at least once a month. This is one of only three restaurants that I will continue to frequent as much as possible in the area. Still highly recommend them. It's a nice, quaint, mom and pop Asian restaurant with good food at...
