Just got home after an excellent meal and felt I had to leave a review. When we arrived at the restaurant this evening, we were told there would be a 15 minute wait. Having had a bad experience waiting at this restaurant before(ended up going before being seated), we made to leave. However, just as we reached our car, one of the staff (who it turned is a member of the family who owns Asahi), came out to tell us that there had been a mistake and there would be a table ready in 5 mins. Happy, we decided to stay and I am very glad we did.
The place was packed which is always a good sign. Our waiter (the same chap who came to get us) was very attentive and polite. We ordered miso soup for both and 4 rolls between us. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Very fresh fish and the yellowtail was some of the best I've had. There are many other items on the menu I'm looking forward to trying. I am very happy we decided to stay and will definitely be back again.

Read moreWe picked up dinner to go after shopping at the antique shops in Denham Springs. I was impressed by the extensive menu on the website. Our group ordered various sushi rolls, sashimi chicken, sashimi scallops, green salads, gyoza, edamame 🫛 and fried rice. The food portions were a lot smaller than most sushi restaurants. That was fine with us because of the lower prices. The food was on the lower end of average overall. The chicken sashimi was good. The scallops were incredibly tiny and inedible. There were only four tiny scallops in the meal. They were so overcooked they had the texture of chewing gum. The gyoza was good. Unfortunately, we ordered the fried dumplings and received steamed dumplings.
There are several places that serve sushi in this area. I really recommend trying a...
Read moreWe used to live right down the street from Asahi and ate there a lot. We moved to mid city Baton Rouge a few years ago and have been loving all of the amazing restaurants near us and havent been back out that way much. Then a few months ago, I had a bad day and my fiance brought me back to Asahi to cheer me up. It worked and we realized how much we had taken them for granted! We have been back twice since then! It is SO good and SO worth my drive! Simply THE BEST sushi place in the Greater Baton Rouge area with delicious food at amazing prices and served with a smile in a CLEAN and cozy setting. I am going...
