Hot Wok — Restaurant in Louisiana

Lots of Chinese restaurants to choose from and this one is in a rather worn down building sharing with a couple of other businesses on veterans Boulevard in Metairie.

Decided to get an order of takeout to bring to my friend's house as she recently moved near this section of Metairie. It was a good sign that while we were waiting for the food to be prepared, that five or six other people came to pick up orders that had been called in - at least two were food delivery drivers.

When we tucked into enjoy our meal back at her house, we were very pleasantly surprised that everything was delicious and well prepared. The steam dumplings in particular were excellent. Everything was generous and portions, and well seasoned. Can't recommend them enough.

Keep in mind that says ONLY for takeout, there is no tables and chairs to eat at...

EXQUISITE food!! Last night I got the shrimp lo mein, the shrimp was plump and luscious and cooked to perfection, the noodles were fried in fresh oil, and the vegetables were still crisp and flavorful. It’s the only time that I didn’t put soy sauce on ANYTHING. The dumplings were soft and fresh and the onion flavor was rich but not overpowering, an absolutely perfect balance of taste. The egg rolls were so sweet they nearly tasted like cake with fresh vegetables inside and a cooked to perfection crunch. This food was OUTSTANDING and I only live six minutes away so I am THRILLED. Hands down some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life and I will be going back several...

Ordered at 9:16 am for pick up for 10:45 am from my lunch break (during work hours), got there for 10:47 and the lady was perplexed and couldn’t find my order, I showed her the receipt on my email and all the details and she went ahead and began cooking it JUST then. After 20 minutes passes (I’m officially late coming from break and losing $$) they finally are done & go to charge me, it’s $2 over the price in my original receipt in my email. I get to work (30 mins later than my allotted lunch break) & the meat was burned, the sauce was gross, the crab Rangoons were not good at all, the only thing I somewhat enjoyed was the egg rolls. Needless to say, will never go here again....
