First try here at 10:30am on a Tuesday. It's a small diner, no tables, only a counter. Sat on the end, by the kitchen door, and it took 10-15 minutes before a server came and asked if I was being helped. THE FOOD: I ordered jalapeno poppers, and a cheeseburger combo. The poppers had no heat from the jalapeno, the cheese was kind of grainy, and there was a hair on it. The burger and fries came. The fries were as I asked for them, well done and crispy. The burger was just barely done, still had a touch of pink in the middle. It looks hand made. The mayo and ketchup was put on way too thick, so it dripped all over. It's kind of a home bbq style burger. It wasn't real tasty, though. The Sprite was good, lol. The men's room was clean.

DATE OF VISIT: 6/22/24. Was in the city and craved a late night treat. Came in and the place has obviously been around for a few years, given the wear and tear to the bar counter. The donuts came out fresh and tasty, but we were served milk that had been out of date for 21 days. We didn't know until we got back to the hotel and drank the milk. It was soured and bitter. With my several years in the food industry, this tells me that they don't use the FIFO (first in, first out) system. I'll never be back and I'll make sure to let my family in the city know to avoid this place. Who needs to get food poisoning on their vacation.

The lady who "cooked" my family's 15 stale takeout mini burgers did not put any toppings on them. I paid cash for one order and card for the other. She did not give me a receipt for the cash order. When asked to refund my money over the phone she was not sweet and grilled me like a liar. By default the items get toppings.

This place has a better fly habitat where they keep the donuts than the audubon insectarium fly exhibit. I mean the donuts in there are so old I think if you had a timelapse you could actually see the entire life cycle of a fly from birth to death. Not only that, the donuts cost more than actual good donuts from dorinaqs or dunkin. Good luck ordering anything else there like a burger because it’ll take 30-40 minutes to make and you’ll instantly regret your purchase when you see how tiny it is and how bland and bad it is. That’s all after waiting 10-15 minutes for the waiter to acknowledge you after talking to the ancient crypt keeper the returning customers are that have been going there since whenever this place opened and for her to give you some attitude like you haven’t been waiting forever to buy the most expensive burger that doesn’t even reach mcdonald’s standards of taste or quality, maybe even safety standards to eat idk after seeing the fly exhibit. But hey, they’re open 24/7 but if it were up to me i’d just go to the 24/7 walgreens/mcdonald’s/taco bell/dunkin/baskin robin’s literally right down the street and save my money and my stomach and my mood. Being open 24/7 isn’t necessarily good if you can’t afford to keep operations going at an acceptable standard when you’re at your slowest,...

The price of a dozen donuts was the lowest in town ,

The service was going good until an employee that was just coming in to work ,

Stop the waitress that was waiting on me to play in her hair , and talk to her about what she should do with her hair ,

Then the waitress that was waiting on me started telling her a story about a customer the day before that she got in trouble with for not putting lettuce on her burgers , which she is not allowed to do , And she went on and on and was upset about what happened yesterday ,

I was ready to check out , it was like I was not there anymore , the waitress was really upset about what happened yesterday ,

Nobody wants to hear all that drama from yesterday , when they come into a restaurant to enjoy a meal

This was my first time ever coming here I have been passing this place for years ,

I probably will come back and get a dozen donuts the price is really great and the donuts were good I had one with my meal , But I definitely won't be...
