La barca mexican marisqueria grill — Restaurant in Louisiana

Wow, what a delicious addition to Prairieville. Immediately upon walking in my eyes danced around the room. This place is beautifully decorated. It is exceptionally clean. Down to the restrooms. There was live music which made for a very enjoyable experience. I sat at the bar and ordered my favorite. A Top Shelf Margarita. While they didn’t have my favorite tequila. The drink was still very good. They bought out some chip & salsa with some type of cabbage/coleslaw. It was tasty. I ordered Coconut Shrimp with Caribbean rice and plantains. It was Delicious! The shrimp were big and fresh. This was not some imported tiny shrimp. This was Gulf Shrimp. I also tried a Margarita with a small bottle of champagne in it. It was tasty as well. The service was great. I even spoke with the owner and told him how impressed I was with everything. The food came out hot and fast. This was such a wonderful experience. Went with my sister on Taco Tuesday around 7pm and we were the only people in there. Ordered 2x1blackberry and watermelon margaritas… too sour, didn’t drink it. Salsa was decent and queso was ok. The guacamole was full of onions. Ordered the Prairieville Avocado, and it was terrible especially for $19!! Bed of shredded lettuce with cold corn out of a can, 2 avocado halves with tuna from a can FULL OF RAW ONIONS! (Topped with a flash fried lonely little shrimp) This should be called Prairieville Onion. When brought to the attention of the server she offered to do absolutely nothing. Pastor was dry. Ordered alcoholic drinks and they were great. An appetizer was brought to our table with a bug in it. The waitress switched it out for a new one. Ordered a kids cheese burger and there was a bug on the side of her fries when we received it. And there was also a bug on the rim of the drink I ordered. Overall great service other than the bugs in the food we ordered. Also, Manager did not speak English so when I asked to speak with the manager the waitress had to translate for him. Our meals were comped but we did leave the waitress a good tip for tending to us very well for the night. Food was not the best but we did enjoy trying something new...
