MUSIC SHOULD BE AN AMBIANCE!! tonight my family and i decided we would go have dinner to celebrate my fiancé’s recent graduation. we expect to catch up since it has been awhile but unfortunately the live entertainment La Carreta had provided on the patio section was deafening! a conversation during this performance tonight was hopeless. a couple sitting near us moved away from the stage to the back side of the patio because the music tonight. a women sitting inside by the bar had even shut the doors from inside. it was impossible to enjoy our night and luckily we were able to enjoy a conversation in the parking lot later that night where the music was at a tolerable level. but it’s not just the music that was insufferable tonight. the service was somehow worse... when i had called earlier i was asked to be put on hold. i said that’s not a problem and the lady in the other line did not put me on hold but however just set the phone down and carried on with that she was doing, for five minutes. i called back and got my question answered immediately. when we finally show up at the restaurant the server took an unreasonable amount of time to do anything: place our drink orders, get chips and dip, refill our water. we had even ordered a large queso and NEVER received it. the only thing our waiter was quick about was getting us our check and cashing us out. the food was disappointing and clearly had been sitting out for a little while probably not under a heat due to the fact our food was pretty cold. and it’s not like i could really communicate this with the waiter because he’s either no where to be seen or the live music was playing. needless to say i have no intentions on returning again which is a shame because it’s a beautiful restaurant. i understand that quarantine has been lifted and it was decently busy but there’s just no excuse...
Read moreGuys I was so hungry and I wanted to sit down and treat myself to a dinner. When I arrived no one greeted me. Finally I had to travel around the restaurant to find someone who could set me. The manager steps in and says, " oh sorry, have set anywhere you want. I'll take care of you." So I order a cocktail and waited and a young lady walked up to serve the chips and salsa. Without a word. So I crab a menu of sort from the table and ask is this the menu. No she says and she grabs one for me and walks off. With out a word. So I wait, and decide that inorder to order I would have to get there attention again. Waving doesn't work they are all watching tv at the bar. Game day I guess. Anyway they take my order and the guy walks away. Without a word rubber necking towards the tv. I have a couple sips of my drink but I was thirsty and wanted some water. I tried several times to get the attention of someone again. When I did it was like a chain reaction of one employee nudging the next for them go see what I needed. Not their job to see what I need. Right? However I was no longer hungry when the food arrived. Aside of it being tasteless. I was not in the mood to have to eat something I didn't like at a place I literally had to beg for there attention. I got their attention once more. To tell them I'm walking out. I have never done this before in my life but it called for it. Bad...
Read moreWas our first time going here I had high hopes because I know they've been in business in Baton Rouge for a long time. We had a mix of good and bad here at the Bluebonnet location. The appetizer was really good we had the triple dip appetizer which was a great deal for the money. Only $11 and it came with a really good size portion of guacamole and queso and bean dip. The salsa was also very good. One member of our party had the quesadilla and enchilada plate which was pretty good. That's kind of where the good ending I had a three Taco plate I mixed and matched three different tacos. The pork belly, the pork Al pastor, and the carne asada. All three of them I had the same problem the feeling was so bland that I actually could taste the tortilla more than the toppings in the taco. I also had tortilla soup with it which was pretty much just a thin broth with two strips of tortillas in it and some cheese. The third member of our party had the birrea tacos. I always thought these were made by dipping the taco shells in the sauce and then frying them up crispy on the grill with the meat inside. Well these were very soggy all the way through but they did taste pretty good we had to eat them with a fork and knife because of how soggy the tortillas were. I also thought on my mix and match Taco plate the tacos were pretty small for a $16 charge...
