First of all, what CANâT I say about this place. The food and overall dining experience canât be beat. The owners and staff are so friendly and more than accommodating throughout your whole dining experience checking on you the entire time and making sure you have a visit worth remembering. The decor styled and hand picked by owners and wives makes your visit feel even more at home. They really put their all into designing the restaurant to find more artwork with every turn you make and everywhere you look, beside the food visiting to see the interior design is a MUST. P.S. look up everywhere you walk in there! The food and drinks donât get me started!!! All the vegetables and meats are like no other that you would find. The chef truly makes his plates a staple to come back and try. We tried a good bit of the menu but some highlights where the Carnitas Dumplings and Ceviche for starters. I also had the chicken tacos and from someone who gets heartburn from even thinking about tacos let me just tell you these went down so smoothly and you could taste each individual ingredient and topping on them, absolutely delicious (and guess what NO heartburn). I cannot wait to go back and try more items from the menu, this will 100% be one of our top go-to restaurants. And if youâre wondering about the kids wait until you see the menu for them absolutely hilariously named, like things such as âummmmâ or âI donât knowâ. If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars I would. This is a must must must eat place and Iâm so excited to finally have a unique restaurant like this in Metairie!! Oh and definitely get the spicy salt rim around your margaritas!!...
Read moreNot great. Bad for the price. Enchiladas were unseasoned white meat chicken in corn tortillas with an unflavorful tomato "red" sauce, and a couple shreds of cheese, a tablespoon of rice and beans. Wasn't even put in an oven. Probably about $1.50 worth of food for $20. Manager struggled to figure out why we didn't like it. He tried to claim it was the authentic way - its not. Im a career professional cook and almost never send anything back but this dish felt like a scam. They took it off the bill without asking, but still.
Asada burrito was OK. steak tasted fine and overall flavor was satisfying. They crisp up a huge layer of cheese on the outside but that honestly brings the dish down as the flavor doesn't really go with burrito , (more like a crispy grilled cheese flavor). They supplement the dish with french fries but they seemed like out of a frozen bag and not appropriate for mexican food. A $5 burrito with S2 of fries for $19.
And ya'll need to use waaaay less cleaning spray or something that doesn't smell so strong. It's terrible having strong lysol scent while you're eating, and it likely is getting in people's food, so chill out.
PS. owner is also snippy and a fragile ego about feedback (see below). He's sorry it doesn't meet my standards as someone who can cook ok. It was honestly overpriced trash, all garnished with the same cilantro and radish, to appear fancy and overcharge. I'm sure frozen FRENCH fries are a gen-u-ine mehican culinary experience and i'm just a...
Read moreIf you're looking for delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine in a cozy and inviting atmosphere, look no further than La TĂa mexican Restaurant. From the moment you step inside, you'll be greeted by friendly staff and the mouth-watering aroma of freshly prepared dishes.
The menu is extensive and features all your favorite Mexican classics, from sizzling fajitas to cheesy quesadillas. But what really sets this restaurant apart is the quality of the ingredients and the culinary expression that goes into each dish. The salsa is bursting with flavor and the chips are thick and warm. And don't even get me started on the aguachiles - it's some of the best I've ever had, and I have had the ones from Sinaloa. Las enchiladas are amazing, I had one with esquite and a green salsa one! You have to try the sopa azteca which is basically a tortilla soup.
In addition to the food, La TĂa also offers a great selection of margaritas, they're$8 on Thursdays. Whether you're in the mood for a classic margarita or something a little more adventurous, like a spicy jalapeno-infused margarita, they've got you covered. I personally love the micheladas with negra Modelo.
Overall, I can't recommend La TĂa enough. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is top-notch. If you're in the mood for some delicious Mexican cuisine in Metairie and don't feel like driving all the way to New Orleans, this is definitely the...
