Stopped at this McDonald's for lunch in June, 2023. There was almost no one inside when we arrived well before noon. We ordered our meal for inside, then waited. There was no option of table delivery, so I had to stand there and wait. There was no one in front of us in the restaurant. But yet it took over ten minutes for our food to come out. So much for fast food. While waiting for our meal, I walked around while waiting to loose up a little, because I was bored. Other folks came in and ordered also. So there were more people at this point. I noticed how messy things were with it being a while before the actual lunch hour and when no one is in the restaurant. So I took some pictures of the place, good and not so good. To be fair to this McDonald's, nothing looked filthy and you probably won't see as much in photo's anyway. When our food came out, it was in a to go bag, and we had no drink. But we ordered to stay and eat. The women who shouted out my number and then, "do you have a drink", almost scared me. She sounded angry at me for some reason. Then as we were seated and eating, we listened, and she seemed to use that very harsh tone with almost everyone. She's probably a very sweet lady, but comes off sounding very angry at folks picking up their food. she is loud enough to get folks attention, but maybe comes across a little too loud? Anyway, when I got my cup, I noticed how the soda fountain area was very messy. There were no drink lids for the medium size drink, which I had. Well there was one, but looked like someone had tried it on their drink first. The counter and fountains were covered with different types of drinks. The whole area was just not clean. And this is before lunch. This is what you get when you want the customer to do the work themselves, rather than when an employee filled the drinks. I wondered why this McDonalds would be this dirty, this early with nobody in the restaurant? So I looked around at things and found a lot of things didn't look the cleanest. So now it made more sense. Our food was hit and miss. We both ordered quarter pounders with cheese. They were very greasy. But they were also very good. That's what the grease does. It gives things great flavor. The French fries on the other hand had no flavor what so ever. We had to go back to the counter and wait to ask for salt to mask the non existing flavor of the fries. So the burger was better than your average Mc Donalds burger lately. But the fries were garbage. Well the salt gave them some flavor, but not much. So we finished our meal. So I went to the restroom to wash my hands. The automatic faucet would not turn on. Thankfully they had a manual faucet in the second sink. I wonder why they had the manual faucet. My guess is they probably had problems with an automatic faucet that was there before, as well. All in all, this McDonald's was not the cleanest place, to be nice. Why you have to wait ten minutes for your order, when there was probably no one else inside with you waiting for food, when you ordered? Why can they make a much better than average quarter pounder than most McDonald's, but make such bad fries? Why can't someone look at the conditions they want their customers to eat in, when there's no one in the restaurant, before people are in the restaurant? This could be a decent McDonald's. That's something I don't say often. But only if some one actually cares about the customer's in the restaurant. My guess is that they must prioritize the drive through or something. Otherwise the only excuse is that they just don't care. I gave them three stars because the quarter pounder with cheese was way better than the average McDonald's. Other than than, I would have not reason to go back in that...
Read moreAs always the Frappe and shake machine stay shut down at Port Allen McDonald's. So I usually call before I leave because I waste gas going all the way there and they they inform you that they don't have any more that night. Which I worked fast food in my teenage years, so I know all about the shake/frappe machine getting closed up early because it was a pain in the butt to clean. But you have to clean it everyday. So instead of waiting like they're supposed to do to close up, or stop selling items on their menu. They close it down at 5 pm and it's even been before 5pm several times. Now, I been going to this McDonald's for probably close to 20 years. I would say roughly we spend around $100-$150 a month there eating and getting frappe's or shakes. Now you add up and tell me how much I've spent in the last 20 years. How come when I called them before midnight to see if they had shakes or frappe's all I asked was are y'all still selling shakes or frappe's this late? Someone, (it was a man, I know that) had the nerve to slam the phone down on the receiver and hang up in my face for no reason. Now, we were planning on going thru the drive thru as usual and probably spending $30-$40. But, why would I want to spend my money where people don't even have enough respect for me to be nice, because I was very nice and it really offended me for someone to do that to me. Now, I'm not perfect. But, by all means I respect someone who respects me. I'm guessing since I was hung up on so violently and rudly, that y'all must not want my money so I guess I'll go find somewhere else where I get respected as long as I respect them. It's not to much to ask for just a little bit of respect. I'm sorry, I was a loyal and nice to anyone who works there. I just really don't want to give y'all my money anymore. How stupid would I look spending my money somewhere that allows it's employees to hang up on someone. My husband even called back to ask the man why his wife got hung up on and guess what? The same man answered because it was on speaker phone and I know it was the same person. But, when he asked the man that answered why his wife got hung up on, the ugly man hung up on my...
Read moreAVOID THIS LOCATION! I live here in Port Allen and travel the country more than most. This is consistently the worst Mcdonalds ive ever been to. I have a bad ankle so today I ordered curbside pickup. The woman who brought out my order completely ignored me when I told her I was missing my 2 hashbrowns($4.40) and walked away like I didnt exist. Was forced to go inside, was ignored again, then finally got my hashbrowns. As if that wasnt infuriating enough, I was given LESS THAN HALF of the eggs that came with the 'big breakfast' that I ordered. There hasnt been one time in the past year that I have gotten an order that wasnt missing items or ingredients(for example, chopped onions are gypped every time). I have completely stopped going back to have orders corrected, because one guy who has been working there longer than anyone should tried to act intimidating one night when I brought up that my 'premium' chicken sandwich was missing lettuce and tomato. When he tried to gaslight me about the situation, I told him "Im not going to waste my time arguing semantics with you" which confused and enraged him, which is just a sad look into what our public school systems are putting out, I guess. Is that really such an obscure word?? Well, I guess now I will be doing the ultimate of avoiding conflict instead of letting them gyp me on ingredients like a pacifist. This marks the last day that I patronize this business. So long, McDonald's that Ive lived near for 30+ years. Ripping off most of my overpriced eggs was the last straw of a...
