Sammy's Grill Prairieville — Restaurant in Louisiana

Went by on a Thursday night at 6:18pm. We were the only ppl waiting. The 2 hostess were very friendly. There were 3 of us. We were seated by 6:31pm. Our waitress didn't come by for about 10 minutes. The place was busy. It was spacious. The booths are a tight squeeze. If you have big men with you ask for a table. Finally our waitress with long black hair come by. She only wanted to take our drink order. But we already knew what we wanted and didn't want to wait for her to disappear again for another 10 minutes before taking our food orders. So we ordered burger with pepper jack cheese only lettuce. He reiterated no other condiments, nothing else in the burger along with a coke zero. I ordered the grilled shrimp poboy with sweet potato fries and water. Our guest ordered a fried shrimp poboy and said I would like a salad instead of fries and tea. We, also, asked for extra napkins at this time. She brought our drinks after a bit. We asked, again, for extra napkins. After awhile a different wait staff brought our food out. Our guest said wait I was supposed to have a salad. She looked at him and then left. Meanwhile, my husband discovered that his burger was a fully loaded burger. Not lettuce and cheese only. Finally he waved down our waitress and the burger issue was addressed as well as the salad. She replied I heard you say you did not want a salad only fries. We were like it comes with fries so why would anyone decline what is not offered. We heard him ask for the salad instead of fries and tea. She looked at both of them without saying a word. We, again, asked for extra napkins that were never given. Never once did she apologized nor addressed that there was ever a misunderstanding. She just turned and left. My grilled shrimp poboy was great. The fried shrimp poboy was great. Finally the salad came for our guest when he was done with one half his poboy. Still, no burger. Our waitress had disappeared. Our guest and myself finished our meal before my husband's burger was finally brought out. Again, no apology, nothing. We asked AGAIN for the extra napkins that NEVER came. Burger was ok. She disappeared again. My husband got through half his burger and said I am going to find her to get the check or she will never come by. We will be here until close at this rate. He got her attention. She brought the bill. He was upset. He asks her did they discount the messed up order on the burger that came after everyone else finished eating? She replied, "Oh the manager looked at it in the computer and he did do something." ??? Something?? Like what?? The price was still the same??? So he asked to have a manager, Joey, look at it. So off she went. She was gone a while. Long enough for my husband to finish his burger and my sweet potato fries. She came back and said ,," My manager, Joey, said he replaced your burger. You got what you ordered so there is no discount. " We were like... WHAT?? THE HECK kind of service is at this Sammy's location??? That burger came out after everyone was done. We could have left and gotten a burger down the street in the time it took to come out right! My husband said I cannot believe the manager didn't even come out himself to apologize or explain himself. What poor people skills here. So ,yea , only ONE STAR for service!! And do request not to have the waitress with long black hair. We watched all the other wait staff checking regularly on their tables. But she just kept disappearing. So very disappointed compared to our service experiences at Sammy s on Highland. Ugh The atmosphere was loud just from ask the people talking. We expected such. But there is seriously only one bathroom, one single commode for women and one for men. What restaurant of this size only has one bathroom??? So I recommend the food and the atmosphere. But beware of the service. It was bad. My husband says he will not go back and do not recommend...

They do not compare to the old Sammy’s in Prairieville!

We were excited to go tonight to try the crawfish, as Sammy’s is known for their great crawfish! We were highly disappointed! The crawfish tasted like salt, no other flavors, and the potatoes and corn had no flavor! The shrimps were jumbo and flavorless! We also ordered the oysters, they were absolutely TERRIBLE! We took a half of bite of one and didn’t touch the rest. We told the waitress that we didn’t like them and she proceeded to bring us a Togo box for the oysters instead of removing them from us. We paid and left all of it there!

she did tell us that the oysters didn’t come in a shell so that made them taste differently, but we didn’t understand why they would taste differently just bc they weren’t in the shell. After trying them, they were absolutely Gross! My recommendation would be to either serve them in the shell or remove them from the menu! Prairieville has restaurants with amazing oysters so I don’t understand why these were so nasty!

I can easily eat 5lbs of crawfish by myself in one setting. We (2 of us) ordered 3lbs and could not finish them bc they were just that bad! I tried to finish them bc Ive been craving crawfish and I definitely do not believe in wasting food, especially boiled seafood, but I just could not bc they were that bad!

On a good note! The drinks were good and the hostess and server were friendly! The server wasn’t attentive but she was very busy, so that’s to be expected and we completely understood that!

We went to Sammys last night to celebrate my daughters birthday. It was only a 30 min wait for a party of 12. Which on a Friday night is not bad. I was surprised to see that the menu was "slimmed" down and prices seemed to be a bit higher. Our appetizers took over 20 mins to come out. I ordered a small order of fries to calm my toddlers hunger for a bit. That took 30 minutes. Ridiculous. One of the people in our party ordered a beer, waitress came back and said they only had it on draft, she came back and said they don't have it on draft only in a bottle, she then came back AGAIN and said that they don't even have the beer. He then ordered an apple crown, waitress came back a bit later and said there was no apple crown. At this point he was frustrated and mad as well as I was. He ordered a simple bourbon and surprise surprise that was available! However, it took 20 mins for him to get it. *we were sitting like 4ft from the bar FYI. When it came time to order our food I was surprised that the sausage po-boy was taken off the menu. I asked our waitress if I could still get it even though it was not on the menu. She said yes. Perfect. Told her no tomatoes. Fast forward we get our food and all I got was some sausage in between a piece of bread. No mayo. No lettuce. And about 10 fries. I'm not exaggerating. Sammys was our go to for good tasting food at a great price. I appreciate the fact we were seated in a timely manner, they accommodated my request.
